nothing but great things to say about Kyle - he is a great guy and his family seem top notch.
I do question the decision - Why would someone trade a valuable SMU degree for w worthless EWU degree just to do well in a league nobody cares about? Plus - if he stays, even if second string he is one play away from playing BCS football - lets face it - a high percentage of QB's that start the year dont finish due to injury. And its not like he is going pro - so might be better off worrying about his future instead of playing intramural football - but some people take longer to figure that out - and i guess its a fun sport. Hope that is worth some serious coin throughout his 50 yr career at whatever he decides to do after next year.

I agree. I really doubt he's going pro. If he had that ability, he would have demonstrated it more consistently here. So, his tradeoff he gets to play a few years on college football and comes out with a degree of limited value.

We keep saying that. Said the same thing about NFL starter Josh McCown. Kyle Padron has the ability -- you'll see.

Every transferring QB since the turn of the Century has outperformed our QBs once they leave. Experienced, upperclass QBs improve-something SMU fans dismiss. Don't forget Bartel and Chris Sanders too. SMU fans just want to see the next great Freshman phenom and that's a losing strategy in the long run. Maybe its our turn to benefit from an upperclassman transfer QB-although I guess McDerrmott fits that category too.

Padron seemed like a nice kid and I wanted him to succeed here, but he is too slow and lacks accuracy and arm strength to be an NFL quarterback.

i didn't say he wouldnt do well - in fact i think he will do great - he might even improve as you suggest. I'm saying it won't matter - he will be at a basic junior college - chris sanders would have been better off getting an SMU degree for example - it means something later, as opposed to being qb at northeastern southern state tech college
