Major wish: SMU and Bama both destroying TCU in the same season!
Poor 'Bammy fan still upset GP didnt follow Fran to Bammyville. Are you more upset about that or the fact you pulled an aggy and negotiated against yourself when you hired him? You know... the same way Aggy did when they stole him from you
My guess is GP is in better shape than you.

This is some crap... Where were the great players before Saban got there? Difference is that there are 10 schools in Texas and one or two legitimate ones in most of the swamp states.

In all fairness, Texas has almost 26 million people whereas Miss and Ark have fewer than 3 million each.

But we also have 10x more bcs-caliber players. Case in point is a certain Arkansas QB rated top in state for 2012.

Saban stepped up recruiting quite a bit when he got there. He did not let top players get out of State. He hit Florida, Bama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana hard. The thing a lot of people say about Texas HS players is when get them they are usually tooped out whereas the ceiling seems to be higher on players from Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama.

Seriously? GP in better shape that Saban. Ridiculous. Saban just won another national championship.

HAHA! Our gene pool consists of cornbread, butter, gravy, and Paula Deen! Plus things get a little more rough in the South!

Regardless of what you may think of his comments. Patterson's recruiting matches his words. He has recruited 3 DL from Louisiana in the last two years and has offered to DTs from Georgia this year. He also still recruits Texas obviously for DTs as he got Joey Hunt and is recruiting Justin Manning this year. Frankly, even if you disagree with what he said, you should be happy as it may help SMU's chances with getting some defensive lineman as TCU is more willing to look beyond Texas than in the past.

Just caught up reading Ponyfans - to Frog, Toad, or whatever you call yourself: Since the Coach Fran deal God has blessed the Crimson Tide with TWO more National Championships and a Heisman winner. And, by the way we recently increased our stadium to more than a 101,000 (and we fill it). I think it turned out just fine.
Chapter 2: Both having lived in the deep south and in Texas, I actually think Texas (especially QBs) has the better players. However, the talent is way more spread out. Florida is also filled with quality players. In my opinion, it's Texas and Florida with the most coveted players, not so much Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Tennessee.
Chapter 3: Frog, Coach Saban has won 3 National Championships (1 at LSU and 2 at Bama), Congrats on your Rose Bowl win.
