This showed up in my google reader for some reason.
Said Temple coach Mike Spradlin: "He plays with a nasty attitude, which is what you're looking for."

so we got a Fred Johnson and a Tray Washington-they'd probably get an extra star if their names were Cornelius Johnson and Tradorrick Washington. Probably gonna need nicknames

To all of the complainers making derogatory comments about how this class of 2013 is unfolding (most of whom don't know diddlie) give the coaches just a little credit for uncovering talent. It would appear Rivals is echoing our coaches evaluation as it relates to Freddie.

When you earn as much as June earns, the the middle of a recruiting Mecca, you've got to expect a little criticism digging through the scrap heap. I know. Good under-the-radar recruits can, will and will always be found but at some freakin' point we've got to sweettalk some big boys.

Let's just take the word recruiting out of the terminology.
We ought to have an Evaluation Budget to hire an Evaluator Coordinator for the Evaluated Class of 2013-(which btw I'm sure will be evaluated as the greatest Evaluated Class in SMU History by June Jones). We ought to start calling them Evaluation Targets from Evaluation Hotspots with a Coach assigned to specific Evaluation Areas of Texas and beyond. Not sure what to do if one of our evaluated prospects is offered by another school-gonna have to hire a Recruiter perhaps). A whole bunch of evaluation going on but very little successful recruiting in comparison to our competitors because these guys can't sell the program to highly recruited players

Okay, let's give them very little credit for uncovering talent since they're 24-28 with the talent they've uncovered thus far.

I'll take 23 wins over the past 3 years as representative of a major improvement over 19 wins in the previous 7 years (if I'm remembering that correctly). I can play with numbers too.

Here are more numbers you can play with
20 wins over 1-AA teams or teams that finished with a losing record
0 conference championships
0 weeks ranked
1-6 record versus ranked teams
1-10 combined record versus TCU, Tx Tech, A&M and Houston
Despite this improvement you speak of, we're still irrelevant.

Yeah, that is why we have been passed over in all of this conference realignment... o wait
The only thing that isn't changing at SMU is some of its chicken little fans.

Conference realignment isn't done. You think we stand a chance of getting into one of the superconferences? Once AQ goes away the BE will be a mid-major conference, albeit a better one than the mid-major conference we currently haven't won.
