I did renew my tickets for 2012 - I've had my seats since Ford opened.

Now that Padron transferred is there any other SMU QB who might beat out Gilbert?

welcome for the short tour, WordUpBU...

with June Jones, who knows...likely not, all though folks here still mourn the way QBs have been handled since Don King. I think if Gilbert comes in healthy (mind and body), he gets the nod.

BTW, Mitch...I don't always follow your reasoning or opinion, but appreciate you, Stallion, and others that don't always swallow the 'party line' that is sometimes thrown by SMU athletics. Dissent from the common thought is not always a bad thing...except when you gore MY ox.

"A little revolution (every now an then) is a good thing, don't you think?"

Thanks for the reply. Good kid with a lot of upside. I hope he does extremely well for you when not playing us!

His strength is hiring staff that produce results and recruiting defensive guys and leading! Gotta admit those who know him really like and admire him. Gilbert will be a star and have a great nfl career. Remember nowmluck and rg3 and tanneyhill werent rated as high as him coming out of hi school

Has June ever done well without Mouse Davis? He had him for a ye ar in Hawaii

Didn't answer my question, but I suppose the answer is pretty clear at this point.

Sounds good, thanks. See you on the Boulevard this fall.

Yeah, not really sure what you're getting at there. If you're questioning my fanhood, which is pretty petty and juvenile to begin with, I go to every SMU home game now that I'm back in Dallas, and attended many even when living in the Northeast. I guess it's just another example of the circular reasoning that makes you such a joy on here.

I don't really know what purpose denigrating our coach on a public forum ever served, but I would like to thank you for shutting it down since January.

Matter of fact there are a lot of good men on this board.. It's a new season and we are undefeated.. We have promising QB's. I think the O line is going to be adequate in the beginning and get much better. We could see some great offense this year. So it's all very good.. I just looked outside and it is raining and all I feel is the warmth of the sun...

Go get um Mustangs...

Gilbert will flourish in Jones' system. The kid is a prize bull, it's amazing how in a team game that one guy can take so much blame. I mean there's stuff I ain't crazy about in his game but I think he'll do what Ryan Mallett did at Arkansas. (I'm still a little p'od that Lloyd Carr took Mallett out vs ohio a few years ago when Henne could barely stand up). SMU might have a Heisman contender, hell SMU does have a Heisman contender. Zach won't ever get the credit he deserves but a QB..... 5,000 yards passing for GG.

Hey btw, I saw one of ya'll's on TV quite a bit at Augusta Friday. Looks like the SMU Golf program is about as good as it gets. I mean I know you all are from Texas and the only sport that matters is football (I have similar feelings) But man that kid made the Friday cut at the Masters, something to be proud of.

Go ponies!
