Mitch is withdrawing because he feels obligated to take on Harry Reid

The General remains in contention.

We haven't heard from Big10PonyFan yet.

It's been a while since we had any coach hiring updates..

Because he's busy posting SMU stuff to an uninterested audience on the Gopher Board

He's a busy guy. I'm having trouble getting on his calendar.

49 months ago I asked in person that SMU start over with a new men's basketball coach because I could see then that Doh wasn't the right coach.
I only asked it because I just knew somehow that it just wasn't working despite some apparent good signs.
Lots of time was wasted.
I hope the next hire is great for the program and one I can fully support.
But I won't get to as many games in the Big East.
I'll be going to some games in the ACC, Big 12, SEC and West Coast where some of my nephews and cousins signed to play sports.

I hope the program does so well that any coach who recently said no to an offer will regret it.

Larry Brown asked for the job. I think you hire the only guy with any interest in the JOB!

Based off what posters known to have legit info have said, we are so far down our list of targets I would think if Larry Brown was really interested he would be hired by now

That's what happens when you have an unrealistic list of targets - you don't go after a bunch of people with cushy jobs for whom SMU would be a step down (Buzz) or those who are in excellent situations with no desire to be in Texas (Amaker, Monson, etc.)

Larry Brown went to the papers and campaigned for the SMU job. Give it to him, or give us a Texas-connected head coach or profile assistant with tremendous upside.

I just don't understand how the unrealistic guys were not informally approached before doh was gone. should know who would at least listen.

Agreed on brown. The man its a proven commodity

It's been a while since we had any coach hiring updates..
