Agree with this ..^

Seems a privacy issue with his employer, though ... but who knows what they put in his contract and what nonsense he agreed to.

If they fired all the people having affairs there wouldn't be any Republicans in Congress or Evangelical Ministers in church. I don't see any reason he should be fired.

Or Democrat presidents of the United States. Be that as it may, his conduct was reprehensible and a blight on his employer, the U of And an embarasment to the U of A. His morality clause in his contract would justify his dismissal. How can they fire the girlfriend if they don't fire him?

It is an issue of sexual favors/harassment, and also lying to one's superior. The AD is also Asst. Chancellor. You just do not do that at your job.

It is amazing how religion has taken hold in Arkansas today. All the talk shows are full of "casting the first stone" folks. Wonder what they would be saying had this happen to Saban?

I do not know if it is a fireable offense, but there are some here that think he needs to go. And if there is any type of punishment against the girl and not him watch out.

In the end I believe that the Penn State debacle will play a part in the University perhaps overreacting in order to keep anything from biting them later.

The Hogs knew what they were getting when they hired him - this isn't new. He's had trouble in the past. In the end they will likely circle up, sing a song, yell that pig call, and give him a raise. Unless, there is more to this that has yet to surface.

There is a whole lotta things going on here. Petrino has an $18,000,000 buyout. I am beginning to believe that if the University believes they have solid right to do so without having to pay anything that they may let hm go. At the least they may give him a long term unpaid suspension, and rework his contract.

I keep going back to the Penn State deal. The sins are not comparable but if they keep Petrino and something comes up in the future where he had done something that turns out to be destructive to the school then the entire administration could be liable for not having acted at this time.

Seems to be about 50-50 for those that will not renew season tickets if he is fired vs. those that will not renew if he is kept.

And no one is concerned about the infidelity. It is with whom he was cheating and more importantly that he lied to his boss. He had just placed the girl in a $55,000 year job in his department. That was the salary level of the previous experienced person who had left.

....and we know lieing is not permitted in this country whether it be our churches, politics, Bill Clements and company and the media is in busines strictly to provide the unbiased truth to the masses...ie see the media scandal in Florida that is coming out with the goal of pitting races against each other in order to sell papers and magazines instead of trying to find the truth and report acurately. What a sad country we have become while hiding behind the constitution and free speech. Why not wait and let the truth come out and then comment rather than speculate?

Ummm...a lot of the "truth" has come out from the coaches own mouth. He admits to having an affair with a young girl he hired with public money and lied about it to his boss. Those are "facts"..not speculation.

What will, in all probability happen, is that the girl will resign to seek other employment after receiving a sizeable sum of hush money from the Razorback Foundation. The coach will get a reprimand and that will be it.

Issue over as far as the school is concerned.

However, since this is the 3rd incident in the coaches career that reeked of deception, expect another incident down the line.

Keep taking up for the cheaters and then will will never have to do anything against anyone anymore. Of course Clinton had an affair and lied to the Grand Jury and basically got away with no punishment since impeachment evidently puts you on a fast track to getting public places named for you.

As Arkpony said, facts are out. Admissions have been made by Petrino and the girl. Normally I would say it would be swept away and forgotten, but I keep coming back to the PSU situation and what is taking place by a school that did not act.

I'm actually proud of Petrino. At least it was a adult woman and not a little boy.

This is inane, at best. Is he a slimebag? Yes -- no question. Does he have commitment issues? Absolutely -- ask the Atlanta Falcons or his wife. You can throw stones at his character, but if he wins games, he'll remain the Hogs' coach.
