There must be a fire burning off in the distance-and heading our way

I think we know who is really behind this.

How ironic that "Orsini" gets quoted in a post with 666 views...

I really hope whatever Orsini did won't come back to bite SMU,
if he did just want to move on to another job thats fine with me.
I just don't think I can handle something bad happening in our athletics program....

probably not off in the distance. probably on our doorstep. this was done mid week. these things are supposed to happen at 5:00 on friday afternoon, not 2:00 on thursday.

I'm worried that R.G.T. will turn into Pye jr. and hire a "yes man".

Methinks that Orsini was trying to make SMU too much of a power in college athletics and Turner and the faculty are uncomfortable with it. I posted on PF years ago that a very prominent Ole Miss alum told me, when SMU hired Turner, that Turner was a scourge on Ole Miss athletics.

It is so Great To Be A Monogamous Trojan Again!
I was in blissful ignorance until The Thadsta called to tell me the news.
SMU has too much drama for me anymore!

this is very confusing...we will hear soon enough the real reason.
Sure hope this doesn't mean Turner is cutting back the athletic programs...

there is no cutting back athletics. don't be crazy. turner and the trustees just dropped 3M a year on basketball coaches and we are dropping 40 million on moody - why would you even think they would not want to be competitive after all of that. have a brain please.

There is huge support behind SMU becoming competitive in Division 1 sports and I am afraid that this is over something really nasty that could come back to bite the program. It was too abrupt and came at a very weird time to be about anything other than an enormous problem for which SO is taking the fall. I don't know him, but he has done remarkable things to resurrect interest in sports among some of our most influential alums. Hope too much damage hasnt been done.
