Because everyone know that "state" is never as good as "the" university. Texas vs Texas State. Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State. Pennsylvania vs Penn State. No one wants "state" in their name.

Michigan and Michigan State, Florida and Florida State. But I think Penn State is happy how they are.

Maybe we should change our name to DPU in honor of the death penalty? It's really the only thing that we're known for, other than the predominance of male femininity on campus of course.

I'm serious! I was shocked the first time I walked around campus. It was like the corner of Throckmorton and Cedar Springs had moved up to Mockingbird. Really repulsive, but I guess I'll have to stick it out since it was the only four year school I applied to that accepted me. Of course it helped that my dad is a graduate. LOL!!

If I wasn't here I'd probably be at El Centro or Brookhaven, and the professors there don't cut you as much slack as the professors here. I'm not complaining about the slack, but it's hard to learn a lot when they coddle you so much. Oh well.
