I like the extra week. Time to heal after a strong schedule start (BU & A$M) and prepare for TCU. Also gives more campus time to get excited about the game. Maybe some real huge campus spirit.

The better coached teams always want the extra week if they can get it. It gives them another week to prepare for the game and another game of their opponents to review where they don't have to play a game that Saturday. I think only if it was a 2 or 3 week break would you worry about it impacting players focus. Here, an extra week this won't be a problem as it would be a big rivalry game for many of the SMU players.

Patterson still can't admit to losing to SMU - from his radio interview this morning:

"We only lost three games last year. The Fiesta Bowl to Boise State, one in overtime, and by 2 points to Baylor".

Never a mention of who they lost to in OT...

He has some mental problems. We are his super bowl evidently.

If this is GP's exact quote

"We only lost three games last year. The Fiesta Bowl to Boise State, one in overtime, and by 2 points to Baylor".

Then he either can't count or distinguish when a year begins and ends much less which season he's referring to beccause the Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise was in 2010.... he had two losses last year (which I'm not happy to correct him on).

Gary Patterson enables a drug culture. The fact that the media has dropped any follow-ups to his cryptic remarks about how many players failed the drug test ("Maybe it's five, and maybe it's eighty-two" - Gary Patterson) is sickening, and proves that the Fort Worth media is complicit in the coverup of illegal activities among members of the TCU football program.

TCU's continued employment of Gary Patterson shows where that institution's values truly lie.

Let's beat the tar out of them again this year.

Nope, too many holes here, you aren't going to get me to jump offsides on this one.

I like that we have a tune up game before we play ATM then an extra week before we play TCU. We should be ready to go both games.

He made a counting error last year in his post SMU loss rant, said June was 1-8 versus TCU when in reality his record was 1-5.

Well, in his defense, you can't let facts get in the way of a good story.

If the game was to get away from SMU, you think GP would run up the score?
