Every game but aTm is winnable in my eyes

Wins-SFA, UTEP, Tulane, Rice, Memphis
Go Either Way- Baylor, TCU, Houston, UCF, USM, Tulsa
Loses - aTm

I say we beat Baylor, TCU, UCF, and Houston and go 9-3.

I still don't understand why people just assume we will lose to A&M. Last year we hung with them until the game got out of hand - under extremely trying circumstances.

Having them at home and assuming things are a bit more stable this year, there is no reason why we shouldn't beat them.

I totally agree. I hope the players don't think this (ie assume we'll lose).

We spotted them 2 easy ones and still were only down 14-7. Our lack of depth was also exposed that game as I think we got worn down much like the home TCU game 2 years ago. I think this is the best chance we've had to beat aTm in a long time (at home and best depth since DP). A win would certainly go a long way in getting that national pub we've been looking for. Imagine if we go into that TCU game undefeated - that game would get TONS of national TV exposure.

They have a significant advantage over us in the trenches, that alone will be a killer for us. We won't keep them from scoring so Gilbert is going to have to play out of his mind for us to keep up (asking a lot for a kid only playing his 3rd game in the offense). Keep in mind they're a no-huddle team (our defense's Kryptonite) and Sumlin is 4-0 versus June (with Houston teams less talented as this A&M team will be). There's just no margin for error in games like these.

TCU will be harder than aTm

There are 5 guaranteed wins. Period. 5 teams ranked horrible.

So you are saying we will win only 1 or 2 of the remaining 7 games (1-6, 2-5) when we have 5 of those 7 at home, the other two are AT BAYLOR and AT UCF

I agree that tcu-less will be tougher than a-m, because they are gonna be pissed, having said that we have the tiny little frogies in "our" backyard...Now Pony Up boys and git-r-dun!

Call me "Sunshine", but I think we can run the conference table. If GG is able to connect on his deep routes, which we did not have last year, we will be able to take control of games early. Then our defense will be free to attack and give our studs at LB a chance to make plays. Can't guarantee anything, but this is a fourth bowl run for the seniors. This team knows how to win and expects to win. Looking forward to a great season.

What???

I see 6-6 or 7-5, although that could improve once we see Gilbert get settled in and the offensive line learns the new blocking terminology and gets used to each other. If the big guys click, I'll push this to 8-4.

We need a solid year before going into the BE. Things will be a bit tougher there.

Some of you must of gone to a different A&M game. We didn't stop them on defense for 3 straight quarters and on offense we gave up 8 sacks. They dominated everyone but Zach Line. McD was no threat-he couldn't get the ball downfield-the offense was basically throwing safe 3 yard passes except for Holmans TD where the Aggie defender fell down. Most of the time A&M's stronger more physical players were throwingn our receivers off their routes. We were dominated on both sides of the ball

I think our "D" will keep us competitive, and in most if not all games this year. Giving GG and the OL time to gel, yet still be productive at the start. I think UT's srew up will be our gain ... GG is and will be the young talent projected and we will see the R&S ... RUN ... and ...SHOOT. For me 8-4 worst case (conf Champs) ...but 9-3 is VERY realistic IMO (and conf Champs)

I think A&M's offense will likely demonstrate to us the difference between a strong CUSA Defense and a big time football program with a strong running game and offensive line. SMU's Defense was good last year too but was no match for A&M's size and strength until A&M clearly played conservative late in the game. The Defensive Line and Taylor Reed in particular got blown off the ball ball nite long

No doubt A&M will be a huge challenge, and I think we are better then just a good C-USA "D". May be not so much that first game last year. A&M's line was no bigger then Pitts (no Pitt was not A&M). I'm hoping another year under our belt (strenght/exp), no DEER in the headlights at Kyle Field, homefield, good crowd ... and I do beleive our "D" has a littler swagger and beleif now. My 8-4 and 9-3 did not include an A&M "W", but I think we have enough on the table that the old saying "On Any Given Day" can apply to us ... and teams best not over look us.

One thing for sure .... we are fixin to find out

BTW I read in the Tulsa paper yesterday that Baylor opened as 16 point favorites over SMU. That couldn't be right could it. I figured 11 1/2
