As a UT grad, I watched almost all of GG's games at UT. Most of the time, they provided him no protection and he was running for his life in almost every game.
In terms of responding to the pressure,
1) He isn't Vince Young; and
2) He isn't Colt McCoy.
Nevertheless, he has enough mobility to get away from "some" rush. BUT, most of his mistakes came while throwing under pressure. If JJ can build the offense around quick hits, he should do very well.

Sheesh, I hope we don't do this anymore this year. Did Timmy Chang/Colt Brennan have to do this I wonder.
All of June's QBs were subjected to his Sideline Chats.

I have always thought of Jones' Conferencing as "on the job training" from the master. So I am looking forward to Gilbert running to the sideline and conferencing Jones then running a little faster back to the huddle with some energy and enthusiasm. If the four receivers can go 100% on every play for four quarters our QB better be able to show some motivation and not look like a center fielder or golfer taking the field.
If you think about it and the purpose for the meeting ..... It is amazing the NCAA will allow such an advantage.....

A little mobility is all that we need. Just enough to keep blitzers honest and DC weary of blitzing GG.
