Now... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Baylor may decide to run a no huddle on us. Are we taking ANY steps to address our complete inability to stop a hurry up attack?
Well since we have one of the best defensive coordinators in the country in Coach Mason I am sure he will figure it out.
Hasn't come close to figuring it out yet and he'll be going up against one of the best OCs in the country in Art Briles and arguably the best offensive talent we'll see all season.

Our coaching doesn't kill us against a hurry up.
An ineffective offense and lack of defensive depth kill us.
We will be able to rotate in players defensively this season, and do some other schematic things our lack of depth hasn't allowed us to do in the past. Because of that, I think we will be much better this year against the hurry up.

Bingo--we do not have the depth on defense to stop a no-huddle for the entire game.
We need Z Line to gash the Baylor D so that we stay out of 3rd and longs.
I'm looking forward to the game--hopefully, we don't lay an egg.

Isn't the whole purpose of running a hurry up offense to keep you from being able to rotate in players?

I believe Baylor will hurry up and throw a couple of interceptions to top off their 21 points..............

Exactly PK. The whole purpose of a hurry up is to keep you from rotating players. I know JasonB likes to put the blame on the offense a lot but this time I think he is dead wrong. Coach Mason has to adust to it without having a chance to substitute. Again, I think Coach Mason will adjust to it and we stop them. If he can't we will not but I believe he will.

How about stopping it for a single quarter? Which we couldn't do at TCU.

hurry up keeps you from rotating players in a single series, but you can rotate players between series and that helps.
Our depth at secondary will allow us to do some schematic things against spread offenses that we could not do in the past. Teams going 4 wide last year had as much impact on our team as running the hurry up (which, coincidentally, is usually executed with 4 wides).
Our inability against the hurry up was a personnel thing, not a coaching thing. We will see how we do this year in those situations, but barring a ton of injuries, I think we will do a heck of a lot better.
Hopefully we are in a lot of situations where the other team has to go to the hurry up

.

I guess you are one of the ones that puts all the blame on the players and very little on the coach. Well the coach has to make proper adjustments within the defense he has on the field to stop the no huddle. If he does not make the right adjustment it does not matter who he has in there. I think Mason is a good coach but I am not giving him a free pass while raining hell, fire, and brimstone on the players. We will see what happens this year against the no huddle. If we do not do good this year you can't just deflect all blame the players and none on the coaches.

I'm sure our opponents are glad they don't have to worry about us running the no-huddle......
