i would take issue with the three teams ranked worse then us. I think you are wrong on at least 2 of them.
8-4 would be huge successful season. 7-5 is about right. very tough out of conference this year. Taylor thompson will be missed.
we need a big time recruiter in here to help us move up from this. Making average bowls is no longer considered a success. we have to upgrade talent and soon.

I think you all could have one of those seasons where your team could be better, but your record doesn't reflect it. I think SMU has a really good shot of "upsetting" the Aggies. Everything seems to set up pretty well for you guys to pull that one out.

Baylor, very possible. A&M and TCU, very unlikely.
Baylor is weaker than last season. Poor defense and no more RG3 at the helm. A&M and TCU are significantly stronger than last season on both sides of the ball.

I'm not so sure TCU is any better on defense. And I'm not so sure that Aggie is better anywhere.

I would think aTm is weaker at QB, considering they just lost a first round draft pick.

I think aTm's offense will be much better. TCU will be a little better. Baylor will drop off but not as much as everyone seems to think IMHO.

Losing to Baylor and Phil Bennett's defense would constitute a setback for this program, despite the fact that the game is in Waco.

Nonsense-how can it be a set-BACK when we haven't beaten them in 26 years

It's worse than that. It's losing to Phil Bennett's half-goatie that would kill me.
7-5 means:
5-0 vs:
5 teams ranked #100 or worse in Div1a (SFA-1aa, at Tulane, at Rice, at UTEP, Memphis), and
2-5 vs:
[5 home/2 road games]
3 teams ranked worse than us
- at Baylor - new QB,
- S.Miss - new QB/Coach,
- Houston - new QB/Coach
2 teams barely ranked above us
- at UCF,
- Tulsa
2 teams ranked above us, both home games
- aTm (new QB/Coach)
- TCU (after we have a bye week)
The schedule doesn't get any better than that.
If Yahoo's rankings are reasonably legitimate, then I could see 8-4, but I doubt that we win all five games of the "ranked #100 or worse" with three of those on the road. Few teams win every game that they are supposed to win. The difference between 8-4 and 7-5 is a razor's edge - a few plays.

Aggie`s have a new coach a new system and new QB and I dont see thier D improving much from the joke that it was last year.If our D plays as well as it has the last two seasons we have a real shot at beating them.Baylors QB looked good last year but he isnt a game changer like BoB griffen and their D is gawd awfull I think some one scored 125 points on them during their bowl game and last but not least TCU I dont know how many starters they booted for that stupid weed incident and their QB has some EXP now but it is TCU and any thing can happen in this game.We will win atleast 2 of those games this year.
froggie trolls grats on the new digs that place impressive most impressive.

let's just hope we can win at least ONE of those non-conference games against our former SWC mates. If we are going to continue to make progress towards being considered a legitimate D-I program, we've got to step it up in these non-conference games. Win 2 of 3 and we will be on our way to a cinderella season
