Of the depth we have on our "D", CB was the only spot I felt we might be thin at, even more than saftey. But, adversity creates opportunity, an opportunity can give birth to your next star ... someone will step forward and step up
Usually a nickle package has 5 DB's hence the term nickle. Both Worthen and Longoria are LB's and do not have the speed to cover receivers. Whoever you heard kick that conversation around needs to drop kick that conversation. If we see a LB's playing in place of a DB in a nickle package we are probably toast.

I'm glad he has not yet burned his redshirt, so once he's healthy, we'll still have three more seasons of J.R. back there, shutting down receivers and returning kicks.
To J.R.'s health -- here's to a speedy recovery.

Chris parks. 3 star with offers from Iowa St and Kansas St. Long, rangy kid. Seems to be pretty smart and a competitor and is a junior so has been in the system a while. Rivals lists his 40 at 4.54. Hmmm.

I think there was a lot of hope that Parks would contribute as a corner right away when he came in. When you watched him in practice the last couple of years, he struggled. And if memory serves me correctly, he got into one play his freshman year and got burned for a really long TD pass? Something like that?
Anyway, he has made great strides since then. He is a good corner and has shown it in the practices I have been to. There won't be much (if any) dropoff from JR to him. He doesn't have the top end speed that JR has, but he has good hips, good athleticism, long arms, and height.

One play against Washington State for a 70+ yard TD. Had to shake his confidence. I have always thought he could be very good and still hold that hope.

Sorry to hear that. Always terrible to hear of an injury to a kid.
You're gonna need a lot of depth when we come to town. Our OC has actually said that "they don't want to run the football." Not so sure about that, but that's what we're gonna see this year.
