Re: New Uniforms
Saw a pic of the new uniforms. I am not that excited about the new look.
But it could have been worse. They could have replaced the Mustang with a picture of Dallas Hall. In the end, I don't think it is the uniform that matters but the record. Win and win consistently and any ugly uniform will look great (Penn State and Ohio State come to mind).

Great pics of the new unis can be seen here:

They look GREAT...interested how the white j's are going to look though.. I love the pants and helmet, but still a little undecided on the navy jersey. I'm glad they kept the SMU the same font and size though. I'm seriously loving the helmets...they look very intimidating. Getting rid of the red face masks was important, and the black is sleeker. I hope the team chooses to wear the leg socks next year. It's such a great look.
I think they should have made D.D. wear gloves, maybe some wristbands...you know, to give it the complete look

Re: New Uniforms
Much better than I expected. I think they look great.
Re: New Uniforms
I wish they would put a red mustang on the pants opposite the nike swoosh. Similar to what Texas does with the longhorn.
I still think the uni's are great. I like what Coach B and the players have done.

Stallion, I was so embarrassed with that building on the BB floor. I didn't play ball as a building but as a Mustang.
Our fans don't cheer to a mascot of the rotunda but to a spirited equine.
We should proudly display the Mustang at all times. IMHO

I'm slowly growing to love these new uni's. Too bad they didn't show the away j's. What other teams wear white on grey with a dark helmet?

Re: New Uniforms
These new uniforms look terrific! They are really kicka$$. Great helmets, jerseys, pants... the whole deal. I hope we will have a RED jersey stashed away for a special game because both would look great with the helmet and pants. Now the sideline coaches need to lose the khaki pants and get Cutter & Buck to find a better recipe for red for the coaches shirts. Good job Rodger.

Re: New Uniforms
Someone please tell me that we will all be able to buy our kids (and, perhaps ourselves) replica jerseys and miniature helmets soon. I was in the SMU bookstore the other day and my kid wanted a jersey and a miniature helmet. I told him that there was no place to buy a jersey; and, the helmets were the old ones. To me, a lot of people would buy, and wear, these jerseys if they were available.
On another note, why can't SMU come up with a standard and classic "official SMU alumni" window decal sticker. We all see the UT, A&M, Tech, etc. stickers on vehicles every day. SMU can't seem to get the act together. Heck, I have even contributed to the alumni association over the last few years and they don't even give me a sticker for my car. Before that, they seemed to come up with some cheesy design every few years. We need a classy design and then send them to all alums whether or not they are members. We desparetly need to market SMU and some of these things are so simple.
I would gladly sport a good looking sticker on my cars and wear a jersey - if only they existed. Does anyone else agree?

Re: New Uniforms
These new uniforms are absolutely great. I love the helmet--very cool. Thinking about the unis on the way home it struck me that they would look even better without the large SMU on front. A small SMU on front like you see the pros wear would look nice and give the unis a very sleek look. My 2 cents. Hey, you can't please everyone.

Re: New Uniforms
I LOVE the new uniforms! And I'm a Mustang from WAAAAAAYYYYYY back! (Been attending the games since I was a toddler in the late 50s!)
If some of you want to get your hands on some 'collector's items', go to www.ebay.com and look for the soon-to-be 'old' helmets and jerseys!

Call me old-fashioned, Mac, but I'd rather see the Mustang INSTEAD of the swossh, not just opposite the thing....

Re: New Uniforms
Unfortunately, Nike would not agree so much.

I was under the impression that everyone always agreed with me.
