Wish I would have got it, but I understand the marketing strategy! I like the idea, now for those who got it, get those signs and stickers up ASAP! Excited to see the direction that we're headed!

Good job. I'm gong to put my sign at the tailgate spot:

SMU is Parking $20

and hit the Corral

Great marketing piece and Corral will be a Dallas attraction.

Got mine today and gotta say I'm really impressed. I live on Vickery inside the loop and faintly close to SMU. A lot of people will see it. Thanks!

I am no marketing genius, but wouldn't we want to somewhat market it to persons that don't live right by the school, and may have not heard about SMU or their football team? I would have proudly featured anything in my yard in Justin, as I already do my garden flag.

neither am I, but I think it makes sense to start with the locals as your target market, then build out. This is to get visibility and connection with the casual college sports fan who may not be able to go to their team's game to try out an SMU game. It is much more likely to get them to come if they are close and aware. We want to make SMU Dallas' college team.

I think it's better to start from the inside and work your way out. We already have trouble getting people within the neighborhood to attend games, it would be even harder to get people from a great deal away to come. The way people from outside the bubble start catching on is by having great results on the field, television/multimedia, and journal press. I think if the environment surrounding SMU becomes more lively, then eventually the wave will spread and others from outside the area will begin to catch on. By enhancing the spirit or atmosphere from within, we could spark interest that will catch people's eyes who frequently pass by. Ever seen a big crowd in a spot where there usually isn't one and get a little curious and walk up to see what's going on? I think that same concept would apply if people circulating and living near SMU were to see a sudden change in the atmosphere. Either way, I'm glad we're taking greater measures to get something done.

On another note though, I go to a small private school in Central Texas (UMHB - 2 hours south of Dallas) and am happy to report that I saw 7 different people wearing SMU shirts where I never saw any last year, and I see very little UT, Baylor, Aggy, or other school shirts (with the exception of UMHB itself). So for what it's worth I think that's somewhat of a sign of SMU's growth.

I get the inside out thing, and that makes complete sense, I just would have liked a few of us suburbanites to get the kit to share with our captive audiences as well.

Send one of those packets out here to Midland. I'm sick of the Sand Aggies, T-Sips and regular Aggies showing off thier stuff.

Yeah you could make a valid argument considering that you're within the metroplex actually. Gotta start somewhere though!
