I don't think Baylor has allowed any opposing team's mascot or cannons in their stadium for years. Fact is about 40 years ago Baylor was playing Texas at Waco when a Texas player scored a touchdown. As the Texas player crossed the goal line, UT guys shot off their blank cannon "smokey" after the UT player cleared the potential blast. The Baylor player chasing him on the play got knocked down hard by the blank cannon blast. Ever since then Baylor hasn't allowed opposing team's mascot or cannons on their field.

Here is what their visitor's guide says about mascots:

Cheerleaders and mascots will be admitted with uniforms and are to remain on the sidelines in front of the visitor’s section. Use gate # 8.
Live mascots must be approved before admittance. Questions regarding spirit groups should be directed to Rachel Levetzow at 254-652-7860 [email protected]. Animal mascots must be approved before admittance. Please contact Bryce Sandvall for assistance at 254-709- 0319. They will be expected to stay in the south end zone area or in front of the visitor’s section.

I guess Peruna was denied.

Then I hope the Baptists get really tired of seeing our cheerleaders run up and down the field after a lot of SMU touchdowns tomorrow.

Hopefully the Hub of SMU Spirit will PLAY Peruna so much the Bears will hear it in their sleep!!!
