Actually, the best part will be to shut my dad up. He is an Aggie, and while he supports SMU, he does it in a pitying way. Would love to have a win over him. On the other hand, he might have a heart attack if we win - he is 85. Of course, I would probably also have a heart attack if we win. Here's to putting it all together for this game.

Relax PB it was a joke. I like the positivity, however its been an emotional roller coaster for all SMU fans since we returned to having winning records. I just want us to compete, but when you get whollywhopped each year by teams like Baylor and A&M when you have high expectations it tends to become frustrating and deflating to morale. With that said, I hope like hell im wrong about this Saturday.

Good post, CenTX. It is frustrating not just to have lost to them, which if you're impartial isn't a surprise. But how we lost. Here's to putting it all together this Saturday and coming out with a big win.

I'm all for it, however I'll have to watch from ESPN gamecast, as I have to work this Saturday... I'll see yall at the TCU game though for sure.

the "i'm so negative about everything SMU football" schtick becomes less effective when everyone tries to pull it.

why even play this game? 99% of the board assumes it's a foregone conclusion we lose. and that we'll look horrible doing it.

i get that it's a message board and you have the right complain every now and then. but some of you don't really want to do anything other than complain. when did we have such high expectations of an SMU team that we have the right to [deleted] about a 52-0 victory? man, we're not that entitled.

i'll be there Saturday. cheering on the Mustangs. if we win, that's awesome. if we lose (which i expect), oh well. I got to watch a lot of great guys play football while hanging out with a bunch of my SMU and Aggie friends.

better than sheep. but then again, it's hard to fly when your back legs are slipped into the front of an aggie's boots...

Realizing that nothing we've seen on the field so far remotely points towards a victory against A&M is quite different from not wanting to support the team anymore. That's a pretty gross hyperbole.

It's possible for a team with lesser talent and smaller players to win as long as there is a strong game plan that can be executed. Look at what the toads did against Wisconsin in their super bowl. I love how the toads said they don't want to play down to lesser talent, but that argument has two sides of the coin as well. There are at least 30 teams with much better talent than they have (as evidenced by recent and historical (4-year period) recruiting rankings), but not all of them are coached as well. I give credit to fatterson for having a system in place that has produced results and now given them better players, but don't be hypocritical.

Our reality is our coach (or coaches) doesn't seem to game plan for every game. We can beat teams with our scheme. If this offense runs like it should, we can beat the A&Ms of the college football world in our field.
