QB - Mike Ford - first memory of SMU was advertisement for SMU-TCU game featuring him.
RB- Charles Waggoner - he beat out both ED and CJ to be the starting RB when they were all freshman. Sadly, freak injury ended his career that year.

Great choices but you need to include the 1950 Ohio State game for Fred also. Beat the Buckeyes in Columbus, in front of 80,000, with a last minute pass to Ben White. We have a picture of the catch, taken by the great Jim Laughead, on the Heritage Hall website. This win moved the Ponies to Number 1 in the country the next week. Kyle Rote was our running back and the Buckeyes featured soon to be Heisman winner Vic Janowicz.
