KU game was really first game of season since starters played little in first game. Very young and athletic team. Have a couple of true frosh starting and have already played 14 or 15 true freshman, this will be a learning year and much better next year with some high profile transfers and most players returning (23 jrs and seniors on the team with only a handful starting.)

Lack of focus against KU, 2 or 3 fumbles inside the KU 20, one at goal line . Weis ran the ball a great deal to shorten game. Also, TCU D is soft up the middle so far. I think this game served as wake up call and coaches can start to teach off this film. Offense is full of weapons at skill position, defense better than last year, not as good as in the past though.

If everyone just views these first 4 games as preseason games as the team gets ready for conference play I think everyone will be fine. One more preseason game with TCU before we start regular season conference play as we set out to take the conference crown this year.

86 - that is an absolutely crazy and insane way to look at a college football season. I hope you are being sarcastic.

TCU had a sloppy game, score didnt show how lopsided the game really was.

Defense not as good but I dont think they have given up a touchdown yet?

no touchdowns against us yet. We looked OK- way too many turnovers. Excited about the 6pm start time of our game.

I have a feeling after the blowout tcu will destroy our spirit with they will cancel all games with us since Patterson hates our guts. Sadly if we don't play this rivalry anymore we are screwed

I hope the game continues, though we have a loud minority in our fanbase that likes to screetch about cancelling the series.

My take on TCU.
DL- (C+) average. Too young. Very athletic, but Not enough experience or depth.
LB- (D) bad. Cain is good. The rest is held together by tissue paper and tape. Zero depth.
DB- (B+) strength of the defense IMHO. Good coverage, tackling and understanding of the scheme.
Defense overall- (B-) only one senior starter. Mostly freshmen & sophomores on the 2 deep and we are short of bodies at some positions.

WR- (A-) deep position. Speed, talented, good hands.
OL- (B-) solid up the middle at Guard and Center. Young and unproven at tackle. Not especially deep at this position.
RB- (A+) top two RBs are great. I'm comfortable when the 3rd & 4th are in the game as well.
QB- (A-) makes good decisions, accurate, strong arm. Only knock is his obvious discomfort keeping the ball on the read & option plays that comprise a healthy part of our play calling.
Offense overall- (A-) balanced. Good on ground or in the air. Should move the ball at will on most defenses.

Team overall- (B) team is far too young & doesn't have enough scholarship players to expect great things or miracles. The offense will need to control the ball and protect the defense or win the Shootout. Probably an 8-4 type Big12 team.

What was the loud minority's reason? Was it because of what Gary said smu did or has this been going on for a while? Is it because people there think this game is holding y'all down? Just curious. I love traditions and rivalries it's what IMHO separates CFB with nfl.

I'm surprise by your low ratings I get the Kansas game wasn't great but at least you are making completions and shutting down offensive TDs. But for us it's general B for defense F for offense.

I would give the WRs at least an A or maybe an A+. QB gets an A- becuase of turnovers and RBs get an A or A-. Agree on LBs being the biggest area of concern right now. This team will go as the defense goes...that and not turning the ball over and over...

I know we are not at TCUs level, but since I am quite humble enough to say we should use them as our model, I am also confident enough to say that with our own Gary Patterson, we can achieve the results that TCU enjoys.

When we get to that point, this could be one of the most fun, dynamic, fierce rivalries in the country. Texas football, battle for a big metro-plex, tons of history between us, similar profiles as far as schools go. We should really grow this game and be creative.

I'm thinking down the line, dress this game up, increase the regalia and honor the tradition. Get some clean all red jerseys with plain white numbers vs some clean solid purple with only white numbers for TCU. Honor the games like our 1935 bout, and others that have made the rivalry great. Maybe Nike would be interested in doing something special for us both if this rivalry sees us both ranked when we meet one year, that would be soo awesome.

never let this rivalry die

When was the last time TCU beat A&M (or for that matter Texas). Am sure it was more recent than us - but I cannot seem to recall. Am sure someone on this thread knows...

Just looked it up 40 years ago TCU beat the Aggies.

1972 A&M
1992 Texas
