Many of the coaches go for a walk or a run after practice - that seems to be the time of day when they can work out, before meetings start. Today wasn't the first time he went for a walk, and I assume it won't be the last. With two weeks to go before the next game, it was not a big deal.
Please don't douse the flaming pitchforks with actual facts.
Those ASU pitchforks were doused last December weren't they? LOL. JK.

Having been at practice, and then reading what they write after viewing certain things with my own eyes, I will simply suggest that the way to get news ratings up is to over-dramatize the "news".

Broadcast News was a great movie.

The point is Rome is burning, June decides "to take a walk" and does not speak to the press as he normally does after Tuesday practice.

Refusal or avoidance...whatever. I fear the heat in the kitchen is getting hot and it's not a movie! We need some wins and quick......We better not lose at UTEP.

I don't need a press release of interview from Jones. I need him to coach. Coaching ain't talking to the press.

We have an off week. Time to improve. Let him do his job.

yeah, PP, but the first practice after THAT GAME? C'mon. that's a big deal. if this was next Tuesday, i would agree with you. but a lot has been said about this team/coach since Saturday. certainly stuff that you guys in the media should want to address or at the very least ask about.

if he did this on Thursday or Friday of this week, i would agree with you, but the first practice - basically the first opportunity for the media to meet with him since post game questions when you haven't really had time to absorb what has transpired - it's a big deal.

for a guy that shows up for the luncheons/coach corners only when they lose b/c he is, according to him, the guy to accept blame, it is. even if he did want to go for a walk, so what. take 10. tell the media members that. it's ten minutes.

One thing is taking a walk (does he really do much walking?? really?), the other is leaving media members hanging there. Especially when supposedly he's been in the habit of meeting with them consistently.

exactly.

plus, he doesn't wear socks. that must cause blisters when avoiding media.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

I think it is within a head coach's job description to speak to the media.

I see your point, and you're not wrong. Honestly, I would think if there were a time to not talk, it would be now instead of next week, but we can agree to disagree - a difference of opinion. For what it's worth, he talked to us today, and there was nothing all that newsworthy ("bye week comes at a good time because we have some guys banged up, the way to get sharper on offense is to keep working at it," etc.), which is why I haven't put up a video today, choosing instead to go with reports from a couple of players.
