To be fair, ED had to share the back field. Zach is a tremendous player but he gets ALL the carries.

-----------

Actually, to be fair, ED had a much better deal and opportunity for carries/ yards. He and James averaged 30 more carries per year (ED 790, CJ 775 total) then Zach (561 to date). On top of that they had a more experienced team with the threat of multiple running backs, which gave the opportunity for diversion and additional blocker.

They also did not throw hardly any so the defenses were key toward the stopping the run on ED. Zach is a good player but he is going against defenses that are geared towards stopping the pass. Also, CUSA does not have as good of defenses as ED and CJ went against week after week. Got to give Zach credit but he is not ED.

Yes, but ED and CJ had the best OL money could buy. All in all it equals out, except for the extra 2 games per year.
Just send 'da money.

Two amazing stats:

1. Zach Line is averaging more yards per carry at this point in his career than did Eric Dickerson in his SMU career (5.7 vs. 5.6 ypc respectively)

2. Eric Dickerson in 1980 and 1981, his junior and senior years, had more attempts than Zach had in the last two years (487 attempts for ED vs. 452 for ZL)

So Zach's carrying the ball less than Eric and averaging more yards per carry.

Luv them both. Zach has been the most consistent part of our offense...damn glad he is here.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

My opinion exactly. But I'd like to see the 2 back set be Wimbley and Zach. That's a lot of beef coming at you. ;-)

I know that was a joke, but it reminds me of when we actually tried that strategy in the first Bennett years with Keylon Kincade. Turns out it doesn't work.

That was about as fun watching this offense - haha. Kincaid to the left, Kincaid up the middle.

Pure greatness when Rossley lined Keith Chiles up as a fullback!
