This would be a dream of mine...being that I am from LA, and that 18% of the current student body is from California, I'd love this. I'd be curious to know what percent of the student body hails from Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah altogether. (Although I still have a tough time associating Colorado and Utah with anything "Pacific")

Anyway, we could become the Stanford of the Pac-16 East! I think we'll be ready in a couple years from now, but if we ever want a dream like this to become a reality (assuming they ever expand) we need to dominate in the Big East, and hopefully have a new head coach that has some real vision for this program. It would also require Hart being as aggressive and smart as Orsini..

Goes for Mormons, too.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Their church is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I think you have Mormons confused with Muslims, whose religion also descends from Abraham and considers Christ one of many prophets but nothing more

As for the topic, yeah it would be great. But we are going to the Big East next year and we don't even look like we will be competitive at that level. Let's build this program before we start talking about playing USC

After all, June always got blown out by USC

You know when we put the BE together we should have a pretty decent football conference. Right now Louisville could probably beat every team in the ACC save perhaps Clemson (and Clemson is so psychotic it could lose to them). We could probably hold our own with half of the ACC. UVA, MD, UNC, BC, Duke, WF, Pitt, Syracuse and the U. Maybe even VT. Right now NCS, GT, Clemson and FSU are the best teams in that drek of a conference. In the PAC 14, right now after you get past UT, USC, UCLA, Oregon and Stanford, the other nine are pretty mediocre. The BE (2014) has some good teams this year. Rutgers, Temple, Cincy and Louisville are pretty good. Navy is a little down this year. Boise looks good. SDSU looks good. SMU will probably end up bowl eligible. UH may end up bowl eligible. USF, UCF and Memphis struggling. If the ACC will do it, I'd love to have every BE team play at least one ACC team over the next decade. I think you'd see some parity there.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

SMU's biggest problem for the last 50 years or so has been the lack of fan support in Dallas. Truthfully that hurts us more than any issue. Until SMU can do something about that, we will continue to struggle as to where we belong. If we could just sell out our stadium, we could write our own ticket. Recruiting would improve etc. Actually we are closer to getting this done then you think, but it is going to take more Effort by all.

This argument gas actually come up on of before. "What is a Christian" is a meaningless question because a everyone has their own definition of what a christian is, and nobody looks at what historical Christians said they are.

The only negative I can see if if we got in the Pac-16, JJ would want to stick around.

Until we put a quality product on the field that wins, beats quality teams and is exciting to watch, it will never happen.

The people at BYU took it like men. No whining, they just moved on.

If they had fought in court (Utah Federal Court could probably claim jurisdiction), they would have had a decent shot of winning. But, they just moved on.
