you are in denial.
"system artifact" is not the reason why he's completed less than half of his throws, and has double the amount of INTs as TDs.
Granted, the receivers haven't helped him, but he has some serious accuracy issues, and stares down the receiver worse than any qb we've had in recent memory.

I really hope that happens, and I really want Gilbert to have the "light go on" and eviscerate every defense down the road. We have, however, heard that exact statement about half a dozen times with a number of kids.
QB rating is stupid in small scope. So Preston's is horribly skewed especially threw against third string Baylor defense, whoopie! GG would have a better rating if WRs wouldn't drop or actually run the right routes. Hard to be good QB if you have [deleted] WRs
Up until now, Fact is GG has Not done well in games at either Texas or SMU. Was it all the 4 or 5 Star receivers at Texas that dropped his throws ? They are doing good now at Texas. GG also over and under threw a lot the WRs at Texas just like the WRs here have experienced at SMU. He does well in practice, but he has had trouble in games since high school. He should do well against Tulane this week end regardless because Tulane is a bad football team, and our D will be tough them. When is he going to really get better ? We are all pulling for him, but he has consistently struggled in games up until now. Some receivers here say his throws are difficult to catch. Why ? Don't know, but makes some sense since most of the same WRs caught pretty good here last year. He has the talent to play at the next level and he shows that in practice. But he needs to start showing more of that talent in games, or he may not be playing here next year.

He doesn't have much of an excuse when he was at Texas. Honestly I never watched many UT games for obvious reasons. The only thing I can say is that it was his first full year and before that got thrown into the BCS championship game. I don't think it was all his fault at UT. I think a lot of it can be spread around the team particularly with Mack brown and his awful QB recruiting. He should have had a soph (Rs) QB at least not a freshman with only 1 game under his belt.
With us, I witness the games on the field and one via tv. I know that WRs made some really stupid drops. I know that people agree when people at barley house were screaming how did he drop that. Now obviously it wasn't just our lack of WR quality. He has a real difficult time with long throws that even Padron made. I have seen GGs bullets and yeah they can be touch but I truly believe that ES could have caught them without whining about it. To make it simple for some of the retards that I have found out on the board, WRs have 75% of the blame, 25% to GG. I hope that is easy enough to understand... Morons

Preston's td pass to Dieter was perfectly thrown with a d-back all over him. Third string or not the coverage was there and it had to be a perfectly thrown pass something that has alluded GG all year. It took Preston one time to hit a deep pass and GG has yet to do it. QBs make receivers look good at times and vice versa but most of this is on GG and his errant throws and poor decisions.
