Great game for Joyner; high energy, has a nose for the ball and gives 100%. Mason said our LB depth was excellent and that our 2’s could step in for the 1’s and we would keep on rocking … once again Mason proves to be a DC that’s a cut above. That’s what the elite teams have across the board. Cody Worthen filled in very nicely for SS as well, and finished with 7 tackles, that’s more tackles than SS has had in any one game this year.

Mason has been playing both all year. Rogers was having a very good year until his injury before the half in the A&M game. When Rogers returns, I don’t think you will see a change. Mason likes their 1-2 punch. Rogers on 1st, 2nd and short yardage 3rd down … and Joyner in Nickel and/or long yardage downs. They are both athletic, and bring their own brand of athleticism. They both have their advantages IMO. Again, a good 1-2 punch … something some on this board have suggested would be nice to see in the "O" backfield. Not to mention it keeps legs and players fresh for that all important 4th qtr. Mason has rotated all the two's LB’s in a lot this year across the board. Again, I think this is his confidence in the depth, the desire to keep people fresh, and allowing guys to gain exp for next season. I hope Rogers heals up well and gets back on the field soon … it only makes us a better as a "D" unit IMO.

You know I never noticed that Joyner had 14 tackles in addition to the 2 Interceptions. Not bad

LB has been the position we have had the most success recruiting over the last couple of years and it is showing.

Randall Joyner posted this to his Facebook today:

"I woke up this morning, I get to get a great education and I get to play football. It has to be a great day the odds already on my side!!!!"

Now, compare that to the twitter post by the Ohio State guy. I KNEW there was a reason why I loved my school and am proud of this program. Not just about wins and losses (although I want A LOT of wins!!).

Joyner is more of an every down player and can make plays that could change a game.

Rambo is a flat-out stud.
Great work last week - let's see more of the same in New Orleans.
