What is there to be proud about when it comes to this football team right now?
I didn't see the game, but followed it on the radio. Obviously the first half was bad which is IMO an on going problem of not being prepared, but it sounded like the players didn't give up and that they played as best they could given the plays they were given to work with in the second half.

I'm truly truly worried about the Memphis game. Houston is a write off plus no one will be there especially me since people have to work and in my case be out of town til Friday. Plus I believe frats do parties on Thursdays
Umm... yeah...

Don't take this personally but what was the point of your comment

I guess I'm hoping you were kidding by asking the school's SID to start a social media project
against the school's own head coach. I get the mood around here is pretty bad, but come on.

Honestly it was more the hope that the SID would tell his boss (AD then to RGT) our fans (to them $$$ flow) is looking to decrease given this performance from butt pirate JJ who is purposely throwing this program down to the ground since he can't build up and tell the world after the new HC is instilled that it wasn't his fault it was just a crappy school. Firing him now would show that the SMU aim actually gives a rats [deleted] about the fan base

Trust me, there are much better ways to get what you want than asking the SID to do your bidding for you. Look up Hart's number or e-mail and tell him directly.

Sarcasm is lost on Gord. I'm not entirely serious about Sutton taking a message from PF to Hart, but we need our voices to be heard as often and as loudly as possible. It's a no holes barred, try everything approach to getting the point across. Unlike our coach who just wants to "do what we're gonna do," I refuse to be part of the go along get along crowd.

I think you mean AD don't you?
Do you all really think I'm that stupid? The sports information director, Brad Sutton,is the only member of the athletics department who is a KNOWN reader of this board, his boss is the AD. The point is, people in athletics NEED to know how upset we are.
June is a joke, he is a real problem, he's willingly tanking out program by neglecting it. He needs to go.
They actually have students who are paid (or at least are asked to due to the fact that they are volunteering) to read this board, and all of the others. Plus any other press that is coming out. This is not an insider secret, this happens at every institution in the country, if their SID is worth a grain of salt. And from working with our SID, I can tell you that he is worth about million bags of salt. Good dude, who gets it... and he's the guy who made me sit for an hour, without interruption, with my spiel on why I should have SMU's support for a "little" documentary I was doing on the DP, before saying, "okay, so if I were inclined to help you, what would you need from us?"
So believe me when I say this, anything you say on this board, the athletic department is listening. I hope they are ignoring most, but if you post anything here -- they know that you said it, whether or not they know who you are. (Again, not insider information, believe me -- I've got friends who run Texas boards, OU boards, etc. they are read by the Ath. Dept. everywhere.)

I'm not going to state that I don't believe that but consider me a professional skeptic. I haven't seen anything being developed from this board. When we complain it seems to fall on deaf ears, just my opinion.

Thanks for the info Thad. We knew Patterson gets people to read boards and now we know that it is a common practice.

No worries, just letting everyone know that our voices are being heard... whether they are being listened to? For the most part, I hope not.... and they know that. It's their job to figure out what to do. Imagine if you are an investment banker/bank, you have your own job to do but you have "fans" (investors) who trust in you, and they have an "investorboard" or three, you've got to pay attention to that board, but your investors are trusting you to find the right stocks.
If we, as fans, could actually do their job better... we'd be working there. We have the right to [deleted], moan and complain, because for us this is personal, but they need to decide what the right thing to do is, but trust me... they are pros, they KNOW they need to be on this board everyday. It's their job to keep an eye on what we are saying. In the end, they know that we are the ones paying to keep their lights on. But they also know things that we can't... that's why I say, they listen, but they also don't have to hear it.
I might be biased (okay, clearly I am), I trust in June... maybe he should move on, you guys might be right, but the entire staff - top to bottom - impress me with their knowledge of the game, and with their humanity and intelligence. Do we need a different direction? I'm not the one to say, that's why we have pros in the athletic department to figure it out. Will I be sad to see them go. Sure. Will I be excited if they and our Mustangs turn it around and run the table? Hell yes.
In the end, go Ponies! I make films, not ath. dept. decisions. But when I walked into the SID's office, he knew I was already BECAUSE of this board. They know. They hear you.

You're right - sarcasm is totally lost on me, yet you weren't "entirely serious" about Sutton taking a message from you to Hart - OK.
I'm sure Sutton reads the boards and I wouldn't be totally surprised if he told Hart (if he was asked) that people on the messageboard are getting restless. But money talks and BS walks. Your pitchfork mob would be a lot more effective if you pulled the money you give to the school and let Hart know that you did it and why. If a ton more people like you did the same thing, the message would get through... without involving the SID telling the AD that NY Pony said 'you need to apologize to the fans.'

So.....you're saying that I could get paid twice....once by SMU and again by employer....while I read PF during the day?
America is a beautiful country and God Bless Al Gore for inventing the internet.
