No objection to us being used as a stepping stone. Like couch 'em said, that can be a win-win situation.

Too bad the alumni at ASU stopped that proposition last year.

At least the ASU alumni had the cajones to step up to their admin and let them know their opinion- and they were speaking with $$. (or the withholding of such).

All of you are insane if you think Hart and the CoC would hire a coach that was implicated in a major, major scandal just two years ago, especially with the history SMU has with scandals. Not gonna happen. Try focusing your energy on someone that doesn't have a show cause order.

I'm hopeful that we can follow the example of the ASU alumni.

No way. The NCAA would have a constant presence on this campus. Lots of successful coaches out there without this baggage. Petrino would be gone before he arrived. JJ is a great coach, but he's only as good as his QB, and to be honest he has not recruited a QB capable of leading us to the next level. No Colt Brennans, no Timmy Changs. Without that piece of the puzzle the run and shoot is run and pass gas.

Maybe we could change all of the city signs to read ' Welcome to Austin' and the ncaa would never pay any attention to our violations.

Petrino!

Any coach that wins big here will be out the door before they settle in. I'm tired of trying to find a long term guy. Find a guy that can win and then find his replacement. You can probably count on one hand all the guys that are successful at mid-level schools that stay long term, essentially lifers; Patterson, Peterson, Briles (to a lesser extent) of the top of my head, who else am I missing.

Bring in Petrino to dominate for 2 years!

And I don't care that he had an affair and lied to his boss about it. He's not the first and won't be the last. He didn't have the NCAA after for that, did he?

Tressel has always been right on the fringe of sanctions and pushing the envelope during his entire coaching career. People in my area can cite many questionable and illegal recruiting practices and outlawed booster assistance activities in every one of his head coaching jobs. Tressel is a master con artist, glad hander and rules violator. Tressel should never be considered at any institution.
