Jerrance Howard is 2-0 vs. Maligi for 2013 recruits. No complaints about the Chicago pipeline, it's unreal, but where are the Texas recruits?

No one is saying they did not want him. It is more like they can;t believe we got him for the most part.

True, but one poster actually says "We did not want him anyway."

Whats the point on this ?This kid is a very top pick who is needed for inside play and is a tough competitor...the Illinois poster that said that doesn't know what he or she is talking about.

We tried very [deleted] Jordan Mickey but his brother went to LSU and I think that had a good amount of influence on him committing to LSU. I think the staff likes Moreira a little more than Shepard who committed to TCU. Also as far as local Texas recruiting goes it Larry Brown said in an interview that he is battling local hard feelings against SMU for not admitting Larry Johnson so it may take SMU winning more to really get them. Look for 2014, 2015 and on to be better for SMU in Texas but for now we have to get the best player no matter where they are.

Guess people hold a grudge given that the Larry Johnson debacle was 25 years ago.

Yeah, that's interesting. I'll take Larry at his word. But it seems to me that the number of current Dallas-area basketball folks who were around during the Larry Johnson thing would be small and shrinking fast at this point.

The older folks are still around. Probably unmentioned to Brown is how SMU handled the dismissal of Tubbs as well. Once we start winning (and it will be tough once we get into the BE) and reach out into the community more things will get better.

Not many spots in a bball recruiting class. Can't complain on the work either coach has done. Phenominal.

Averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots as a junior. Led his team to a 30-3 record over the summer.

Although considered something of a late bloomer, 247 Sports ranks Moore #211 player nationally and the #50 Power Forward in the 2013 class. Since he reportedly only started coming into his own in his junior season, I think it's reasonable to expect those rankings to climb.

Received around 20 offers to play college ball, according to Coach Rob Brost.

More than 25 Division I programs have visited Bolingbrook High to evaluate Moore, according to Coach Brost, including Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, Missouri, Northwestern, Nebraska, SMU, Colorado State and Minnesota. Indiana, Wisconsin and UTEP were also scheduled to visit.

Brost said the 6'8" Moore is garnering attention because he is a "great all-around player." He has more than a 7-foot wingspan, he's athletic, bouncy, handles the ball very well and has a great feel for the game, he said. Moore is also on the Bolingbrook High School honor roll.

"He is one of the leaders of our team," Brost said. "He is a great example for our younger players both on and off the floor. He is a very humble kid and has taken all this deserved attention in stride. A lot of players would let this type of attention go to their head. This attention makes him work even harder."

Come on, Julius Randle!!

Stay close to home and play for a legend.

Create a legacy.

Why play for just some other team that's always good with tons of already established names in their alumni base (Kentucky, Maryland, etc), come here and be DIFFERENT and become a legend yourself!

Didn't Tubbs think he had a legit shot at Darrel Arthur who went to Kansas. Wasn't heat Kansas for only a year? Any idea what happened to him?

I guess Larry Brown should look into adding Larry Johnson to the staff!

Also Coach Maligi was on the plane with Howard to help close those deals. Looking forward to hoops season even though I know we probably will not be that good this year.

I think we have a chance to compete for the CUSA title. I definitely think we should FINALLY Win a CUSA tournament game. There's decent talent on the team, not Big East talent, but enough to compete in CUSA. Take away the Princeton, add a legit coach, and I think our team could surprise some folks next year.

We are no longer in contact with Julius Randle. Apparently LB said some things that his handlers did not like.
