Ah yes, year six, 1 1/2 cycles of a roster, and 150 (about) Jones recruits later, if only that darn schedule weren't so tough!

Depends on what teams we defeated to get to 6-2. If we had beat Tulane, we would be 5-3. That wouldn't create any big stir. Winning one of the "tough" OOC games to get to 6-2 might generate a little more interest. We would need to be 7-1 right now (which means we would have only lost one of the "tough" OOC games) to have generated enough buzz to increase attendance.SMU21TCU10 wrote:I believe our attendance would be up if we were 6-2 right now
Winning no matter who it is against will always get attendance up. As Coach Jones said on video that we need to have a schedule where we can go 4-0 in OOC. Sounds like you have a problem with Coach Jones philosophy.PK wrote:Depends on what teams we defeated to get to 6-2. If we had beat Tulane, we would be 5-3. That wouldn't create any big stir. If you are talking about 6-2 with an OOC schedule full of cupcakes, I don't see that doing anything for attendance.
Very very good chance UNT beats us this year. What then?Charleston Pony wrote:Don't we have UNT on the future schedule? That's a game we can win and will bring a decent crowd...much better than playing FCS schools. Need to continue playing TCU and Baylor as long as we can
I love the sarcasm, quite awesome I give you points for that!Bergermeister wrote:The voice of reason.Billy Joe wrote:.....our non-conference schedule is way too tough for where we are as a program. Let's get 10 straight bowl games then we can talk about playing a tougher schedule.
Yes I do. I think it would be much better if we had a team that could go 4-0 in OOC regardless of who we schedule. It's not like we are scheduling Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma or K-State. We are talking about TCU, Baylor (who currently has a better team than their history would support), A&M (hard to beat, but not unbeatable), Tech (who had to go three OTs to beat TCU with a freshman QB and a defense made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores). We beat TCU last year and could have done so this year if our receivers would have caught instead of dropped all those passes. We have beat an SEC Arkansas several times and a big 12 Kansas with SMU teams with less talent then what we have now. No guts...no glory. And I don't think beating up cupcakes are going to win more attendance from the Dallas fans.SMU 86 wrote:Winning no matter who it is against will always get attendance up. I know you are kidding but there are those in adm that would like nothing better03Mustang wrote:Lets just drop to DII and we can DOMINATE
and I know what you're saying but you're wrong, they want D-III non-scholarship morelwjr wrote:I know you are kidding but there are those in adm that would like nothing better03Mustang wrote:Lets just drop to DII and we can DOMINATE
6-2 would up the attendance..... You mean like being 5-1 last year coming off a win against a ranked TCU team and playing the defending conference champion upped attendance?SMU21TCU10 wrote:I agree. If we played 2 easy teams in place of Baylor and A&M (always want to play TCU) I believe our attendance would be up if we were 6-2 right now and were having 9 win seasons instead of 7. Boise plays one good team a year.
