I read 18 kids have left the team since he got there. Was on a message board though. So may not be true.

sounds about right for a new coaching staff trying to change a culture of losing; lots of guys to run off. Not trying to defend Leach...just telling it like it is. College foortball is big business and WSU didn't bring Leach in there to be Mr Nice Guy

I don't believe there ever has been a report suggesting that Marks wasn't a full qualifier. Further, if he truly was a doubtful quaifier he probably wouldn't have gotten offers from schools like Vanderbilt, UCLA and Boston College which all have higher academic requirements.

Will SMU ever lower its academic standards for student athletes.

We did! How much lower would you like them to go?

They are. He would have been admitted. However, he could have put us over our salary cap.

Well I was not aware that SMU had lowered them.

Marks would have been admitted at SMU. He did pass NCAA the clearinghouse.

Marks will be just fine as the #2 or possibly #1 receiver at WSU next season.
He was a starter from day 1. Why on earth would he sit out a year to come here?

Word to the wise. Don't believe everything you read on a message board.

another SMU decommit Chris Harper at Cal is having a pretty good freshman year too with 38 catches for 516 yards.
