Im starting to think the barely-made-it graduates of SMU on here are really stinking up the board. Jason, your comment wasnt bad, but I have seen you trying to spin that JJ is a good coach and has given me the impression you still want him around. I believed you said in another post that who else are we going to get. Which again gives the assumption, since there is no one than we might as well ride it out with JJ.

ECM, truly hope you get your [deleted] together. You have been getting nuts on the board, and have been truly "tiresome" in your comments. Especially when you countlessly made mistakes on what people are saying to you, in which you go into a drunken spew of anger. If you like keep up the "insults," it only makes me  . I only say this for these comments for SMU's behalf on trying to maintain a decent reputation.
Here's what Jason actually said in the other thread: "That said, after losing to Rice and Tulane, and barring a major upset next week, I could certainly understand if he would be let go. I would just caution that we still need a very special hire to be successful at SMU. Jones did a much better job than Doh, but we need a Larry Brown level hire in order to be successful in the Big East in football. We have hired all kinds of assistant coaches here to be head coaches in the past 25 years and they just don't have the pull with the administration to build a successful program."

I don't think that seems unreasonable...and please stop with the BS harassment of anyone who doesn't follow your line of thinking 100% all the time. And it's not just you Alumni11, it's a lot of people on here. Ya'll are to the SMU fanbase what the Tea Party is to the Republican Party. Just because someone doesn't agree with you 24/7 on every issue doesn't make them "small minded" or any less of an SMU fan. There should be room for differing opinions on this message board; otherwise, what's the point of even having one?

Has this season been a disaster? Yes. Is it time for SMU to go in another direction with respect to the football program? Yes, it appears so. Has June Jones done a lot for our football program since he came here five years ago? Uh, yes. Has everyone forgotten the 0-11 and 3-8 seasons and 25 years of not making a bowl game? We were one of the laughingstocks of college football. Maybe someone who graduated in 2011 doesn't realize how far we've come as a program, but I don't think it's "small minded" or "juvenile" or whatever insults were hurled at me yesterday to suggest that JJ deserves some credit for how far our program has come. Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done and progress to be made. And yes, it's clear that it's time for someone new, but for Pete's sake, yall act like he abused children or something.

Ok listen, I dont have any hatred/anger/negative outlook to anyone who has their own opinion. The only time I start to say [deleted] is to people who like to say your dumb and not explain why that is. It irritates and makes me laugh at the same time. Jason can love, hate or be apathetic to JJ for all he wants. I was just putting him in the JJ to death supporters based on the comments I have read from him. That doesn't mean I lost respect to him. Ill agree with you that JJ is better than DOH. However DOH for the money is better than JJ to some extent. DOH actually tried to recruit and win. The thing is he wasnt talented enough to be a coach here. JJ maybe has the ability but doesnt even try which gives him a negative value. I never harass anyone. I might "rag" on someone for a comment but never pile on (which typically happens to me) so I follow the golden rule. I completely disagree with you on the Tea Party and why that is, but I'll spare the forum this time from my very conservative view point.

I believe I never said JJ was worthless or anything similar to it. If I did, I wish to retract that statement now. What he did in Year 2009 and 2010 and after UCF on 2011 was great. I never felt more proud of a team that has come from nothing to 5-1 and beating a well known TCU team at their own place. After USM collapse my viewpoint and delight started to crumble. Then Tulsa game came around and I was in complete shock. There were rumors that JJ gave up because he wasnt getting his worship attendance at the Ford, as well as the players which Im sure he complained about to them (student wrote to DC). That pissed me off beyond belief. They may have the ground, but they need to be professional and look past it. For someone in his position and experience, that should have never happened. They should have gone out there and compete like they did at TCU. After the ASU debacle, I was pleading he would leave and when he came back, I knew this season and the future will crumble. As we look at the remains of the season, it only looks worst. Thats why you see the rage and anger from this fanbase. If we step back and look at the timeline from 1990 to now, and then see JJ's part we can still be thankful. If he wants whatever possible positive goodbye from SMU, he needs to say aloha now. Again, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that is mine.

Thank you ECM for the respectful response. I appreciate as I was expecting something entirely. Again, Im hoping we can get back to things, and I can assure you that my pro-conservative anti-liberal comments will not cease

On-line bellyachers are far louder than those who support Coach Jones or Hart's ability to make a decision. For the record, I'm up in the air on Jones, but without question, I keep Mason and a few others. It's hard to guess how this defense would have fared with a few healthy DBs. It's hard to play defense with 7 or 8 guys.
