Lighten up....what a bunch of drama queens.
He's the ONLY Steelers player who did not mention his alma mater. Very disappointing to not hear "SMU" or "Southern Methodist University" on national TV from one of the highest drafted Mustangs in recent years.
Exactly! It's 100% disgusting.
I'm sure he thinks he is being cute, but it sure annoys me - a lot.

It's fine, he can do what he wants. I wouldn't get mad til he talks bad about SMU or if someone asks where he went to college and he says he didn't

Perhaps ES was sending a message to RGT and RH to stop embarrassing the whole SMU brand with the FB being played since he left.
BTW I removed my SMU Tattered Flag from my Deck overlooking the Harbour and only wore USC gear yesterday (that worked out well!

).
Lighten Up and Chill.

It sure would be nice if our former now nfl players came to the games in support. Heck maybe join in the buying out of JJ

Maybe he is tired of the constant humiliation of being connected to SMU sports publicly

Exactly! Guys change these intros all the time. You guys need to step back and take a breath.
Hope he gets cut? Grow up and stop acting like a spoiled little brat.

The reason it is total BS is because he is not a regular starter and this is one of the rare chances for an SMU player to actually start a game on Sunday Night Football which is the only place they do the video intros with schools.
If he doesn't care about SMU then I will care less about him.
I realize it is sad (actually borderline pathetic), but we don't exactly have that much to look forward to...

Any idea if Sanders, Robinson or Morestead have joined the Mustang Club to give back to the school that put them in the NFL?

Everyone needs to relax. Two comments.
1. It is increasingly common for NFL players to reference their hometown, High School, grade school, or even something completely made up (Antonio Smith of the Texans claims the "Shaolin Temple"). They do this to stand out, not to insult their Universities.
2. Get off your high horses and the thought that Sanders owes SMU and its fans something. The same fans who, some of you, have now called a traitor. Direct your anger at the people actually hurting SMU Football, not one of our biggest contributors post DP!

I agree with those who say, lighten up. Good grief. Be proud of the young man. He came from a very small town. Very humble beginnings. If you paid any attention to ES, you would know he mentions and tweets about SMU. He hasn't dissed SMU. He is Pony proud. He is also proud of his family and his home town.
Go Ponies!

Belleville (correct spelling) had an "Emmanuel Sanders Day" earlier this year.
