Please - totally crazy decision. Whatever our prospects are, they are better then Tulsa. Does this guy think he is going pro? Well he is not, and then we can compare his situation to having an SMU degree and a decent job network to draw from.

Maybe a crazy decision in the long-term, but what do these kids want? They want to go to a school that's "cool." A totally emotional decision, but that's what a lot of these kids want. The bottom line is that the marketplace--our customers--the recruits--are telling us we're not "cool." Our coaches don't have "it." They'd rather go to f@#$%ng Tulsa than SMU.
I don't mind losing recruits to UT, A$M, L$U, etc. but to freaking Tulsa? That tells you all you need to know.

The vast majority of big-time recruits couldn't care less about a degree or a job after college.

Here's my thing: isn't it cooler to spend four years from ages 18-22 in Dallas, as opposed to [deleted] Tulsa, Oklahoma? Apologies in advance to Kynd Tulsa Phan

All the negativity on this board is driving recruits away. They read this board, you know, and instead of supporting the team, we're on here b*&^(ing and moaning about how bad the program is, how we're going to be in a conference with f&*&^ing Lamar of all people, etc.
Hope everyone is happy.

Glad you put the sarcasm alert on there. I almost bit on it.

Depends if you are challenging for conference championships or getting beat up by Rice.

Didn't we have those three players who wanted to play with us, and we only had one ship to give? We let the player in the NW walk, and now this guy, and I think that group of three fill the spots.

I believe 2 committed elsewhere and the other is not that interested in SMU.

He took an official to Tulsa this weekend, watched them beat UCF and was convinced to flip. Winning is important.
and there were actually people there watching

might help if the coaches had some consistent contact with the recruits after they have committed.
Our recruiting 'system' and philosophy has to be the worst of any major college.

I love that anyone thinks we are major at this point.
