I think A&M will eclipse Texas in interest/ curiosity/ excitement from casual fans, especially if Manziel stays healthy and does his thing for 3 more years.

Frogs are gonna be scary in 2-3 seasons.

Definitely some empty seats in upper deck on visitors side. Maybe a small section or two fairly empty. And then entire end zone with band fairly empty - that's student seating. Otherwise, most seats filled. Mack brown said he can't win if only 99k show up to games. And the classes are too hard for his players. UT has to decide if it will be a football school or not.

And yes, lots of Walmart t-shirt fans for UT. Kind of like univ of Miami fans.

TCU just doesnt bring as many as A&M - not surprisingly based on their respective school sizes.

UT is panicky. They are seeing it slip away in a manner that does not seem like a fluke or in any way temporary. A&M is now the flagship state football program and Sumlin could be there forever. If you are a young black athlete that thinks he has a pro career - who would you rather play for - Sumlin or washed up old happy talk guy Mack Brown? and dont even get me started on our collection of fossils.

I think aggie was brilliant (hard to beleive i can use those two words in the same sentence) to distance themselves. UT is just so machovilian that you cant stay close to them without ending up knifed in the alley at some point.

Im happy for my number 2 team, i do hope they can call UT out for a bowl game. Skunk them. Then UT would be destroyed by OU and AM, and lost to TCU at home effectively burning down ATX to the ground. Sorry its my dream to see them on fire.

Mack has put a hell of a lot of young black athletes into the pros. Sumlin might need to do more than just beat Bama once to turn the tide in this state.

Just pointing out who has the momentum at this point - it aint Mack. I know that is sort of obvious, but there are a ton of UT folks living in the past right now.

Mack is Stoops' b#tch and always has been.
Without buying, er, recruiting Vince Young, he doesn't sniff a title.

This is the first time I've ever heard someone accuse Brown of illegal recruitment of VY. Have some proof there, partner?

I guess Texas is figuring out GG wasn't the problem it's their offensive line. And both their QBs looked terrible, though McCoy did have 1 good drive. They have like 4 running backs and no good receivers. Anyone think they were overrated just a little bit.

I agree with you that he most likely didnt do anything illegal, however if the guy had evidence, we would be seeing the NCAA doing something about it. I would love to get tons of evidence of cheating every year on UT so they can feel some punishment.

This is a hot button issue for me, but black athletes have aspirations other than playing in the league. Yes, SMU needs to recruit players with that goal, but that is not the only option for these guys.

It's not Mack per se doing anything illegal - it is the whole culture down here. He doesn't need to be involved in anything unethical because the community does it for him and EVERYONE turns a blind eye if they know what is good for them. I have lived near campus for 20 years and every day I see UT athletes being treated like kings and living above the means you would expect of students in their situation.
