This year we have only beaten bad teams. Last year we beat TCU. As I recall McDermott was playing hurt in a lot of those games we lost last year as well. As far as recruiting goes JJ has stated publicly that he does not go after mid to high caliber recruits. So our recruiting would look about the same no matter about the success we have. That is unless a mid to high caliber recruit call JJ. He said it was something about academic curriculum but our basketball team keep going after mid to high level recruits. I guess they just work harder at trying to get them.

At least we played hard in that one, a dumb INT ended the game. Tulsa was a no show.

I know everyone gives me a hard time for saying I expected around .500 this season.

But for me, last season was much more disappointing than this season. Two experienced QBs, an NFL WR, All Senior O-line, deep DL.

This season, we have new QB, no NFL WR (we can all agree DJ hasn't had an NFL season), brand new OL with a center playing guard and a guard playing tackle.

I came into this season expecting .500 ...

JJ expected it too. Wait - that's every year.

I think he stated something to that effect at Ozona's this past week. At least that is what I read.
