I think everyone, from coaches, to players, to fans would get hyped for this game.

I agree with your view of the staff, but I'm honestly curious to see if they will actually put the motivational effort into this game and if so how it will go.

I haven't watched Fresno in a long time but from what I remember of them as conference-mates, they don't ever fit the bill of "someone who doesn't care" a la Pitt last year.

I think if June has any motivation left in him, he will at least put it towards the Hawaii bowl. That's the prize he's been seeking all season. IMO we will show up for this game, should be a good one (did pretty well last time ).

It really doesn't matter who the opponent is... I feel confident that ponyfans.com will be able to conjure up enough doom and gloom and SMU shortcomings to whip us into a suicidal frenzy prior to game time.

If we get Boise that would actually drive some attention and hope for this program. It's not beating UT or OU but heck it's a hell of a lot better than freaking Fresno. I hope we get Boise since that means people might pay attention. If its Fresno I might just skip to the 4th quarter on the recorder.

Did I get this right? If we get Boise it means they lost the upcoming game? I would rather have Boise winning and ranked going into the BE than the other way, even if it does mean we play Fresno.

I agree! We need the strongest Big East possible.

Give me Boise all day. I would be much more into this game. Although I see them going to Vegas though.

I'd like to see Boise as well. I want to see how we stack up against them. We might get our butts kicked (maybe not), but it would be a good test and an interesting matchup.

I know that Fresno people are pushing for Vegas just like SMU fans push for a closer bowl since flights to Hawaii are expensive and its Christmas Eve, compared to an hour flight from Fresno to Las Vegas. From what I've heard, after winning the a share of the MWC, Fresno fans feel they deserve a shot at a Pac-12 team.

Personally, being an SMU guy from Fresno it'd be a lot of fun watching my school play the team I grew up watching and I have family that are passionate about the Bulldogs. it would make for an interesting Christmas dinner!

Has Fresno State been relevant since the david carr days?
