No Cincy, no UL, no Rutgers. We received the most favorable eastern divisions games possible.

Still thinking 5-7.

Definite losses to A&M, TCU, Boise.

Probable losses to Baylor, Tech

Toss ups with SDSU, UCF

Probable wins against Memphis, USF, UConn, UH & Temple

Four road games sound good to me: Houston, Memphis, San Diego & Tampa

SMU shouldn't complain about road trips because they will travel the fewest miles! http://www.sbnation.com/2012/12/11/3755 ... l-schedule

What on earth gives you any hope for us defeating them after this season?

Is the easiest schedule by far we could've hoped for. Personally was hoping to play Louisville, but so much for that.

Baylor and Tech graduate lots of players, both games are at home and Tech has a new coach. I hold out one tiny sliver, an iota, of hope.

We might win the division. Look at the Boise State schedule. It is Brutal. Boise could have 3 or 4 conference losses.

Boise State

Home: Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Rutgers. Away: Cincinnati, San Diego State, SMU, Temple

And the least amount of travel. No excuse not to make a bowl game or challenge for the west division title.

So what you are saying is - we will continue to play the Owls for Homecoming...just not the ones we are used to.

An average team's performance with this schedule:

Win: UConn, Temple, @Memphis
Split: Baylor, Tech, Boise, UCF
Win one of: @USF, @SDSU, @Houston
Loss: @A&M, @TCU

I think a record of 6-6 would be difficult, but obtainable assuming we don't have massive attrition. We should start to turn the corner at WR, OL, QB, and the secondary next season.

An expectation should definitely be at least 4-4 in conference.

While a downturn was expected this season, the adjustments made in the coaching staff should start to see dividends next year. The record should be the same or better next year even though it is against upgraded competition. If it isn't I think a change will be made. Jones won't be given the leeway of a sub-par first big east season with the frustrations over the last two years.

USF (new Coach), SDSU, and Houston are all winnable IMO.

Please stop with the reasonableness.
