Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. If we win, and we see a 10% increase in fans in the stands and everyone is just super excited about beating Fresno. I have no shame in admitting I was wrong. I'm just basing my POV from my conversations with people in and out of SMU. If everyone of you guys has a different experience, then awesome we should hit max capacity next year if we win.

No no you misunderstand me. I'm saying to the fan that has no clue of Fresno st: it sounds like a no name college with a recently started program. I'm sure over on the west coast it's not but here that's the vibe my "community" and I get when I hear Fresno st. I know AF sucks but it would be fun to play a military service academy and actually win and be close to home. Let my comments not mistaken you, I hope we never play NTCC!

It looks like you think too regionally. Fresno State may be a joke academically, but they are legit in football. They also had some good teams in basketball under Jerry Tarkanian. Fresno State was Boise State before Boise State came along. Boise State has simply been more successful the last few years. We already played a service academy in a bowl game 2 years ago. We have not had much success against the service academies the last several years. Losing to the service academies is pretty damaging to our reputation. Playing in Hawaii, against a Fresno State team is positive for the program. It stinks for the fans who cannot afford to go or cannot part from their families, but it is definitely a very good bowl to sell to recruits. Especially in a year like we have now where we are playing the best possible opponent fro all the CUSA bowls. Iowa State may have had some decent wins this year, but make no mistake, they are the butt of the Big XII.

Any one who knows college football knows about fresno.

If I was on the MUSTANG team I would much rather go to Hawaii and play then most of the other bowls. The opponent wouldn't matter as much as the trip! JJ picked Hawaii both for himself but also for the players. I'm happy for them! I wish I could go too! If you've never been to a bowl with a team you can't imagine how much fun is coming their way. There's all kinds of festive affairs and events. JJ will have pictures, etc. to show recruits along with three other years of bowl fun. Can't hurt.

Fresno is a very good team with a good football reputation. And I hope we win. Nonetheless, going to a bowl (particularly this bowl) should be a great reward and much prestige for SMU.

As pointed out earlier, I predicted that Fresno will come out with a lackadaisical attitude and SMU will beat them.

You can tell. They look pathetic. How are they in a bowl game?

Looks like my prediction came true. Fresno came out flat.
