Re: BAYLOR WR'S
If the PAC starts eyeing Texas, the Big 11 starts to think defense. Its not going to try and poach in CA, its going to gobble up the name Texas schools to keep the PAC out. That means SMU, UH and/or Rice (yes, Rice). Otherwise, the PAC might make a run at SMU, UH and/or Rice to get an entre into Dallas and Houston. So, I think Stallion is spot on. UT has a game against Oregon State. It should pound them. TT is playing today against Minnesota (a trap game for TT without a coach). Rice has a bowl game today as well.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Re: BAYLOR WR'S
They will not try to keep the PAC out. It isn't a zero-sum game. PAC moving into Texas with schools like SMU and UH that doesn't have a huge fan following does not hurt big12 money because PAC is servicing those who aren't currently being reached by Big12 who already own this market. However splitting the same markets more ways by adding SMU does hurt their money.EastStang wrote:If the PAC starts eyeing Texas, the Big 11 starts to think defense. The only reason I'm not giving this an A+++ is because you left out JWill (and to a much lesser extent, Kaiser). So you only get an A++Stallion wrote:This guy took off a redshirt in the 10th game of the season and never bitched or transferred. Padron, Bo Levi and Sanders and McClown and Bartel will always have that Tier 4 degree.

I still hate TTech (still classless even without the Pirate) and UT's unjustified arrogance. I admire what TCU has done and can manage to root for Baylor because of the old SWC (and because they're not TTech or UT).couch 'em wrote:Here's where all those same people say they totally agree with you and have thought the same all alongStallion wrote:you know how much crap I take for being a TCU, Tech, Baylor, UH and UT homer?

Spot on. My dad, who was a Longhorn, always said when the SWC crosses the Red River we are all on the same team. When Texas schools won it made everyone look better.Stallion wrote:I know a lot may not understand advanced thinking like this but i hope every Texas team runs their opponent off the field in Bowl Games. If we are in Death Match for final few slots in BCS consideration our best calling card is our Texas location, location, location. The better Texas teams do the better we look if we are among those suceeding. In the 1990s Florida kind of got that reputation and former Junior Colleges went from obscurity to consideration for BCS Conferences like USF and UCF. Unknown schools like Florida Atlantic and Florida International started brand new football programs and all of a sudden were in the discussion. SMU has the market (the Metroplex) but SMU also is in the recruiting goldmine that produces more Division 1A prospects than any other Metro area in the Country. I don't think we have any shot in the forseeable future at the PAC but if you think we have a shot at either the ACC or the PAC then being in a recognized recruiting goldmine is one of our best calling cards. The reputation of all Texas schools is enhanced nationally when SMU and Baylor run their opponents off the field in Bowl Games and A&M beats Alabama. 2 straight Heismans. Every Conference will want a piece of the Texas action-both TV market and recruiting market-and those are really the only strong cards we have to play

That Baylor defense sure had a tough time dealing with that world-class and expertly-coached UCLA offensive line!

SMU getting into a major would make us a monster in 3 yrs.
Re: BAYLOR WR'S
good lord this takes the cake for stallion canned response. You provided no insight or out of the box thinking with this post. I ski most of the bs on this board, but usually read your posts. I continued reading this one because I was amazed at how little you offered. Hey everyone! Texas has good recruits, if your conference wants to expand come here.... See Texas AMStallion wrote:I know a lot may not understand advanced thinking like this but i hope every Texas team runs their opponent off the field in Bowl Games.
