My two cents is that we stay EAST. Playing ECU>Wyoming from an overall university exposure standpoint. Even if we ultimately end up going west, the east coast exposure may get us where we want to be (ironic?) Just my two cents.
I agree we should stay east, for media exposure alone. Those night games out west are an afterthought on the east coast and SMU wants more eastern (particularly northeastern) exposure. As this thing moves closer and closer to only 4 conferences that matter, it's critical to both win AND to be recognized for doing so

Going East certainly worked for the Dallas Cowboys. (Back in the day, not sarcasm)

A&M is an OOC opponent not a conference opponent so you can drop any of the
OOC opponents. Is everyone scared of A&M?

Next year is the year to play A&M because they are certainly headed for a down year after getting cocky after their season and accolades this year.
I think we hang with them next year.

I would love to get my hands on some of that fine, fine stuff you have been smoking.

what does 'limited' membership mean? football-only in the ACC i assume? We'd have to jump on it but would be a shame to be that close to big time basketball with Larry Brown as our coach and have to beg the Missouri Valley for a spot. Actually, wonder if we could join the Catholics spin off at that point.

Boo Flippin' Hoo.
SDSU was a mystery to begin with - Tulsa replaces them easy. BSU is harder to replace but if you think they're irreplaceable you're wrong.
WHATEVER. The Big East was never going to remain even in this current rendition, and everyone knows it. It's more interesting to me that someone FINALLY said 'no' to the Big East name. Not surprised it was the Broncos.

If a championship game is valued, Big East can easily get to 12 schools and depending on future defections, could have something that looks like this after Louisville and Rutgers depart:
East: UConn, Cincy, Temple, ECU, USF, UCF, Navy
West: Memphis, So Miss, Tulane, SMU, Houston, Tulsa
Basically it's CUSA 3.0, but I would prefer that group to the MWC which might have:
Mountain: UTEP, UNM, CSU, AFA, Wyoming, Boise
West: UNLV, Nevada, Utah St, San Jose, Fresno, SDSU, Hawaii

You need 1 more in the West or 1 less in the East.

Add rice to the west.
This might sound harsh but if we go MWC and the tv deal is that crappy less than a mil, I don't think ill buy season tickets. Ill buy single game to OOC and then just wait til the next year. There is nothing in MWC other than BSU that's worth playing. We destroyed their co-champion 41-13, I think if our admin has any common sense don't take any deal with MWC.

Hawaii and Navy would be invited to those respective conferences as football only members. Scheduling is awkward, but could be done

Why in the world would the amount of the tv contract influence whether you bought season tickets? You are saying that for the same schedule, if SMU got over a million in tv money you would buy tickets but if SMU got less than a million you would not buy tickets? Does the amount of money SMU receives in tv money influence how much you enjoy watching the game in person in the stadium?

No I thought I put in: make a dumb decision and go MWC = no season tickets for me
