Part of me wants SMU to get payroll players.

We do it to ourselves. We need a schedule blueprint for success.gostangs wrote:we need to un-bolster out schedule. Nothing like 0-4 to suck all the excitement out of the year before mid October.
Agreed, with the exception of TCU.alamocitystang wrote:June has thus far refused to prepare for games against old SWC rivals.
And Tech a few years ago (2010? Whatever year it was that we lost by 8 in Lubbock)ponyboy wrote:Agreed, with the exception of TCU.alamocitystang wrote:June has thus far refused to prepare for games against old SWC rivals.
alamocitystang wrote:Win one and we're relevant. No reason to believe this cant be done. Everyone wants to go B12 but when we play a B12 schedule, you whine? We've gotta show we can compete. I think next year could surprise us in a good way. Baylor and Tech are not that much better. It's all coaching and mental toughness. June has thus far refused to prepare for games against old SWC rivals. That better change...and I realize that A&M is good. But one guy should not win games for you. Just make an Fing tackle. It was so fun to watch him make us look silly all bowl season!
We were getting blown out in that one too until late in the 3rd quarter.CalallenStang wrote:And Tech a few years ago (2010? I know a lot of people echo this sentiment, but I think that it is off base. People go on and on about his ego, then say he does not care if he loses games? To me, those are contradictory sentiments.alamocitystang wrote:June has thus far refused to prepare for games against old SWC rivals.

That is most definitely the best solutions for the wusses who want meaningless wins and people like me who want the losses that might come at a price of a blowout. Have one easy win to get players ready to go up against tough teams is what we need. However, playing a tough team first when they need adjustment as well isn't bad either. There's always a pro and a con. But taking away AM and putting a crap FCS team in would be beneficial.Digetydog wrote:Not worried about the home games.Stallion wrote:Why are SMU fans even bothering with the BCS charade if you are scared to play mid-level BCS schools at home?
The hard non-conf schedule was set up when we had a horrible CUSA schedule.
Long term, I'd like to set the Aggies, Baylor and TCU remain with a SFA level game to start the season and work the kinks out.
