Just did a little research.

Colin was a two star.
His only offer was from Nevada.
He was #67 in QB rank for 2006.

Here is his profile:

Looks like the stars are not always right!

So Derrick Carr will win the heisman next year by our bowl track record. Which big time player was on the ND team we beat in the Aloha Bowl? Tim Brown must have been on that team, I cannot remember?

Will never watch Kaepernick without thinking about the Hawaii Bowl and how we snuffed him out al day.
Even though I was at the Aloha Bowl game, I had to look up the info. Steve Buerlin (sp?) was the qb...tim brown was on their team.

Another above average QB to put on our "beat 'em in a bowl game" resume.

Exactly. Why go after 5 stars when there are clearly 2 stars that end up succeeding!

However, as lore goes on and as stories are told and if Colin K develops as it appears he is going to, SMU will be able to say they beat him and Marino in bowl games and only when one of the 1,281 witnesses to the game makes a statement as you just did will the legend begin to die.
Proud to say I am one of those witnesses.

Owens was tackled behind the line of scrimage 3 times in the Bluebonnett Bowl game. This was the first time in his entire football career that he had ever been tackled behind the line of scrimmage and lost yardage.

Tim Brown was a freshman on that Notre Dame team that had about 2 dozen future NFL players. Tim had 2 long kickoff returns out to almost.midfield, but I don't remember him catching any passes that night. Everyone knew he was talented, but still a year away from any Heisman talk.

my only point was he has developed into a great QB. It is fun watching him play.

Treadway, we heard how great Carr was, I am sure he will be good too. I didn't watch any of the Fresno State games this year.
