Do they travel well? I know that in a same sized stadium we averaged 2,000 more fans per game at home this year than did Tulsa. And they had a killer season.

Actually, RGV, when you play the game of assigning schools to conferences, you find out that Duke, Syracuse and Boston College are also homeless. Add those 3 schools, remove undesirables, and you have a pretty decent conference.
CT, BC, Cinc, Pitt, Syracuse, Wake, Duke, Navy
SMU, Houston, UCF, USF, Miami, UNLV, SD State, AFA

I still honestly think something like that is the end game. If you add it up one of North Carolina, GT, or Virginia has a decent chance of still being there as well.

Yeah, me too. Plus, USM has more name rec, although slight, than Tulsa. Brett Favre and much more tradition, too. Tulsa diminishes our association in my opinion, while USM is neutral.

they are a far cry from SMU or Tulane academically - not that it matters in all of this. I think USM would be better. We cant go where we want to go in a collection of small private schools. We need to be one of the few in the mix - not one of the several.

A guy named Drew Pearson played at Tulsa....and they bring some pretty solid basketball as well.
Tulsa has done far more over the past 15 years to deserve an invite than we have...they simply have the misfortune of being in Tulsa instead of Dallas. They did win CUSA last year....

USM football is down now and their BB is weak.
Big East needs strong BB programs for our strength of schedule.

This new conference sure is going to be interesting. Way different than c-USA. Can't wait to see if we can almost win this conference, but not actually be able to.

Maybe eek out 6 wins and make an anonymous bowl game where we get excited about beating a middle of the road mid major team. Who knows. The possibilities are endless

So what (Pearson)? They also had Steve Largent, didn't they?
I'm glad Tulsa is a candidate to join, and I'd like to see Rice, too: private school, elite academics, big city people can drive to. If the Owls aren't invited to join, they need to be on the non-conference schedule EVERY year.
