I didn't think so.
Actually there has been a fair amount of reporting on it. News like this does not usually make it onto ponyfans so if you rely on this board for your news it would have been easy to miss.

"Case was closed,no charges filed"....."players' attorneys notified that they were no longer being investigated"......no other details available . I think my point was just made ?

Applewhite takes "Hook em horns" literally. How do you separate the UT coaches from the students? With a crowbar. Old joke.

If the ousted track coach files suit claiming racial and/or gender bias on behalf of the university, couldn't UT be almost forced to fire Applewhite? (Maybe they could hire Vince Young to replace him. Rumor has it he's out of work and needs a job.)
Oh ... as for Texas having such a stellar offseason: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Maybe she should have had atty Joe Jamail represent her? For those that don't know, Jamail is one of the largest donors at UT. During law school, we used to joke that the only thing not named after him was the [deleted].
The idea of Jamail negotiating with Dodds over Applewhite's punishment is ludicrous. Not only does Jamail tell Dodds what is up, he practically owns UT Pres Bill Powers.

Or maybe the police and DA just determined that they were not guilty?

UT continues to underachieve. Where's the pedophilia angle? Where's the fake dead girlfriend? She wasn't even a hooker!

We don't know that yet.

I will admit to my interest being piqued by this quote, although the article clears things up by saying "during the 2009 Fiesta Bowl festivities".
And some people wanted this orange bozo to be our coach...

Wasn't our coach accused of the same thing with volleyball player? Just saying we might not want to cast stones in this situation.

Jamail is "advising" Applewhite.

There is NEVER any excuse for a coach or teacher having any kind of relationship with any student, adult or otherwise. That is flat out automatic dismissal these days - and that is what the Pres and the trustees at UT are probably pissed about - since they apparently never knew about the Applewhite deal. Now they have a giant problem since they fired a different coach for the same thing....Applewhite could very well be dismissed for this and probably should be. The atty for the other coach has to be giggling about this....it will create an automatic giant settlement, regardless of the outcome of applewhite since they gave him a pass two years ago for the same thing.
also makes Deloss look pretty stupid. he had to have known about both situations. he thought he had the Applewhite deal buried and now it has risen like frankenstein.

I completely disagree. There is a huge difference between a high school student and a grad school student. At some point, people become adults responsible for their own actions. Furthermore, what about coaches/teachers dating adult students who they don't coach/teach?
When I was in b school, we had a new faculty member join the faculty. She was my age. She didn't teach any of my classes. Why shouldn't we date?
If they are 1) an adult and 2) not taught/coached by the faculty member. I have no problem with it.

When bad news absolutely has to be addressed, late Friday is the ideal time. The fact that it's two days before the Super Bowl is as perfect a scenario as UT could ask for.
Not to mention being able to hide it for three fricking years!!
