I said we'd win seven games. And I said it between the Tulane loss and the upcoming game against Houston when we were 2-4. We went on to spank UH by 30 points and win five of our last seven games.

I'd like to say you're right but the schedule is going to be too daunting for that. Our OOC schedule is as tough as ever and our in-conference competition is only going to get tougher as well. We also lose what? 4? Legitimate NFL prospects off of a 6-6 team.

If we 8-4 during the regular season then we most likely win the BE. If that's the case, JJ gets BE Coach of the Year, with Gilbert in the running for BE POY.

The OCC schedule next season is brutal. The conference road schedule is brutal. I never want to get down on the Ponies, but I'm not expecting much next year. If we finish with a winning record I'll be shocked.

I know this sacrilege for a lot of folks on this board, but I'm praying we get out of the A&M game. We have no business playing the Aggies next season. . . SWC nostolgia or no SWC nostolgia.

I have no burning desire to vist College Station next year; ideally the game would be moved to San Antonio, but that probably won't happen.

The Aggies will be preseason top ten. Yeah, they'll probably beat us badly, but I want to see how we stack up. We can't be the best by playing cupcakes all year. If you want cupcakes, let's join the WAC.

So what you're saying is that TCU, Baylor and Tech are cupcakes? I wish that were true. BTW Boise managed a couple of BCS Bowls in the WAC playing one or two tough OOC games. We can easily prove ourselves without the Aggies.

Well, I've got a pretty good idea of how we'll stack up against A&M based on the last two games we've played against them, and based on their last few recruiting classes compared to ours. I'm all for tests. But when you know it's going to be a 45 point blowout going in, it's just not that much fun.

We won't be playing 4 big 12 teams in a row...at least 1 , possibly 2 of these games will not happen. Hello SFA or NWST.

83 CB, I hope it is that close. With the Aggies being top 10 and SMU rebuilding that could be an ugly Saturday. I hate to back out but at this point and time it might be the best move for this team

F that, grow a pair. We [deleted] and moan on here about the haves and have-nots, and how there's this growing divide in CFB between the two- well one of the major "haves" is willing to play us not only at their place but in Dallas as well- play the game. Just tell June that the state of Hawaii annexed College Station and we'll come out firing on all cylinders

I also think we will be much improved. Of course we are going into a more competitive conference. So, the question is how much improved will we be? I think the test will be how our receivers play. GG is a good qb. Can we get the passing game back? If so, we could compete for another bowl game. If not, it could be a miserable year.

FYI - Holland tweeted that he has heard A&M might not be on the final schedule.

ponyboy, you are a true sunshiner.

We lost our best back in Z-Line, best WR in DJ3, best linebackers in JG and T Reed, best DE in Margus Hunt, and our starting NG. How do you think we will have a break out season when the competition is higher than it was last year? We were extremely lucky to make a bowl game last year. Imagine if Tulsa had actually showed up on the last game of the season. Woulda been a different story.

Next year depends on GG. He improved drastically over last season, and if starts hitting his passes and the WRs make some catches, we could squeeze in a bowl game. But next year will definitely not be a 'breakout season' by any means. Top 25 votes? suuure buddy..

I do NOT want to play the Aggies either...but what I hear is that we will play them and that the Baylor game might be the one that doesn't happen. FYI I hear Florence is trying to get another year from the NCAA as the Baylor QB.
