early 80's I think he was an O lineman, last name King. He was a SAE. Only reason I remember, during Hell week he terrorized us pledges.

Remember, when listing players; they should have be activated members of the fraternity, and not just "Social Affiliates".

Cool Story-another Phi Delt Jeff Courtwright was literrally the Phi Delt Intramural QB. Once McIllhenny started as a true freshman, Ford graduated, and several more QBs transferred. We couldn't sign any QBs because they knew they would sit on the bench. SMU was left with only about 2 QBs for a potentially nationally competitive team. So after hearing about Courtwright from several Phi Delt FB players they asked him to walkon. The next season McIllhenny got hurt in about the 3rd game and SMU's national ranking was on the line. Courtwright was named the starter against NTSU and in his one and only game in his College career he threwa 96 yard TD pass to Craig James coming out of the backfield which at the time was a SWC and SMU record. I think it remains a SWC record-but has been broken under June Jones at SMU since he loves to throw bombs out of his own endzone. I know we've hit some for home runs. Anyway Phi Delt Intramural QB to starting for National Contender to throwing for SWC Record. SMU Football saved by the Inter Fraternity Council and Phi Delta Theta

Excuse me Stallion. One is not to talk about "Greek Life", and your reference to Phi Delt intramurals comes darn close. So, please refrain from such liberties in the future.

Ford didn't graduate until 2010. So technically, the above reference to him is slightly inaccurate. And Courtwright walked on and earned a scholarship I believe.

That play actually made that fraudulent 100 greatest plays in SMU History List SMU announced in the early 2000s. (Hint there were only about 1-2 greatest plays in SMU History from 1989-2000 despite that stupid list). What's even funnier is that Courtwright's record setting pass came on his first collegiate pass and on the second play from scrimmage.

yeah Courtright walked on though after being enrolled at SMU-he was literrally our Intramural QB before he went out for the team. I think it was in mid spring training because they were so desperate with limited QB options. My twin brother was his big brother in the fraternity. Courtwright did get put on scholarship I believe-or didn't his mom work at SMU like Blaylock's mom?

Ford completed a rigorous 33 year program. That's cool he went back and got his degree.

Not sure about Courtwright's mother but I am fairly sure he earned a scholarship. I don't honestly remember if Blaylock earned a scholarship or not. He certainly deserved one. He may be the quickest human (reflex/reaction) I have ever seen.

Wish I could have found a rigorous 33 year program.
