Colbert on June
"He told me they were going to use me in a lot of different ways from the quarterback position and that he's happy to have me."
Perhaps "We do what we do" is finally coming to an end.

I think it is pretty clear it is coming to an end. Added a te formation, recruited a te, added a zone read, recruiting athletic qbs. Things are definitely changing. At first I thought maybe it was with the addition of jp, but some other things happened around that same time that may have had a bigger impact.
I would look for changes in the offense to continue to evolve and we will be a much better foot all team for it.

I think its time to come clean on who you know and relation to team

At Hawaii he used the zone-read occasionally with colt brennan. Colt was a very mobile QB, look up his 2006 rushing yards. Before Colt's time he incorporated aspects of the flexbone-option game.
JJ has alwas been scheme flexible in terms of adjusting to the players he has.

Could have fooled me in 5 yrs other than using Zach more

Padron, Mitchell, and McDermott aren't very mobile. GG is the only semi athletic QB and he's been used on designed runs.

He punted an athletic qb as soon as he got here.

Good point Grant, Willis was very mobile and we would have won more than one game with him...Padron was pretty quick actually.

I remember there were times BLM would roll out, he had a wide open field to run and pick big yardage instead he would pull up and throw usually incomplete or int.

He has to be able to pass first though and Willis struck me as a good runner and average at best passer. That kind of player won't fly in the R&S.

There are other people on this board who know a lot more than me about what happened a couple of years ago. I am hearing things third hand and don't feel like it is my place to disclose it; if they want to share they can.
Suffice it to say, we see the use of a TE, the recruiting of a TE, utilization of a more mobile QB, and recruiting a mobile QB. I think it is obvious that some things are changing on the offensive side. Like I said, I always assumed it was a Phillips influence, but from other things I heard I am certain that the offense is changing.
It may not be changing at the pace that some of the folks here want it to, but it is changing.
GiddyUp, I don't have a direct relationship with anybody on the coaching staff or anything like that.

That avg at best passer aka Justin Willis put up big numbers as a passer. June was wrong for booting JW.

The lousy runners and mediocre passers June has recruited to run his R&S haven't flown either.
