ND wil go to the BIG.
Their Indy model doesn't work when conferences grow to a size where 10 of their 12 regular season games are in conference.
Scheduling would be very difficult .
ND will keep the USC game and a service academy game as their OOC game.

Sounds like #Duke left out, as #B1G will offer #UNC & #UVA, but #B1G will allow UNC-Duke rivalry to continue in non-conference. #ACC

We would get into the Big Ten before Iowa State.
Are you sure?
This season alone, every conceivable Iowa State home attendance record was shattered. The Cyclones set new marks for the highest attended game (56,800), average attendance per game (55,274) and total attendance (386,918) in program history. The 2012 campaign marked the second-consecutive season Iowa State has broken its average-attendance-per-game mark, eclipsing last season's record of 53,647.

All that matters is TV and location. If you think the Big Ten has any inkling whatsoever of adding a second team in Iowa you're smoking something I want ASAP.

Iowa State will never be an option, since this is a not a new or large market for B1G.
However, this blog says, UVA (DC), NC (whole state), Georgia Tech (SEC-backyard and ATL) and Florida State (which would be a wow) are the targets. These moves would probably convince ND to get in a conference that matters, plus the Irish could keep USC and Navy, our new BE conference mate.

Iowa, in a rare show of in-state loyalty, spoke up for ISUZU inclusion in the Big Ten - no one was listening.
The Big Ten must really be struggling right now for an identity; they're about to become the C-USA of the BCS - a corporate, soulless shell of a conference created out of necessity rather than real vision.
I mean, the money will be good, but how interesting does Georgia Tech vs. Minnesota sound as a conference game? Sheesh...
While we're at it, can we get a three-conference trade, similar to the NBA?
Mizzou goes to the Big Ten
Maryland stays with the ACC
Va Tech goes to the SEC

If you can't win on the field, win on the balance sheet. If the Big Ten adds UNC and Virginia, the TV markets in their footprint are astounding. I don't think they'll end up taking GT but we'll see

Question is if these schools hold offers from both B10 & SEC, who do they choose.
You take away these 3 schools and assume no additional Florida exposure and the SEC's remaining choices look uninspiring. Makes you wonder if SEC offers UNC and NC St as a combo. Maybe even VA and VA Tech to get to 18.
If I was the SEC, I'd seriously consider UNC, NC St, Fl St and GT. They are the 1 conference that does not need to go global.

Why would you add UNC and NC State together? UNC delivers most of Carolina and that's all the B1G network wants, to force cable companies in NC to add the Big Ten Network to their options. So, you add one school from MD, VA, NC, Georgia and you pick up cable systems around those states. UVA has a smaller following than VT, but UVA is AAU, VT is not (its the A&M of Virginia). And you definitely get into cable systems near Balto., DC, ATL and Raleigh and Charlotte. That's their strategy. Dallas and Houston would be really nice gets to their cable contract, much bigger than Charlotte.

NC judge has upheld the ACC's $52 million exit fee against Maryland. Stallion and other attorneys- I'm assuming UMD will remove this to federal court now? What are the chances the contract for the exit fee is enforced? Will $52 million be seen as unconscionably high?
If upheld, I still think it will have little bearing on UVA and UNC's decision. They stand to make that $52m back very quickly with the Big Ten TV contract

Time limits for removal have likely passed or been waived by failing to secure removal prior to this ruling. Removal deadline is something like 30 days-hasn't that passed
