I saw Gottschalk go down and was helped up, and limped around for a while after that. Does anyone know if it's anything serious?
Agree - doesnt seem to go back and forth.mrydel wrote:Based on history, I do not see Jones giving anyone but Gilbert snaps unless there is an injury. I hope however that he will at least let Burcham get some game experience so he will be ready in 2014.
Definitely. GG probably won't end up in the Heisman conversation, but he will certainly take the new conference by storm. I can't wait!ponyscott wrote:Talked with some of the coaches at the SMU Football golf tourney ( thanks be to RGVPony) and they said with GGs speed and with all the short quick passes and a quick offense, the D and LB's won't be able to 'spy' on GG ....so there will be gaps and GG has the green light... at 4.6 and 230...he will b a beast.
I agree with both comments. On the other hand, if JJ goes to forth, you are not going to come back. Ask the QBs who cpmpleted their eligibility in Washington.GiddyUp wrote:Agree - doesnt seem to go back and forth.mrydel wrote:Based on history, I do not see Jones giving anyone but Gilbert snaps unless there is an injury. Based on history we will have a new starting QB this year......GiddyUp wrote:Agree - doesnt seem to go back and forth.mrydel wrote:Based on history, I do not see Jones giving anyone but Gilbert snaps unless there is an injury. Mac Brown did the same thing with Colt McCoy's senior year and a certain freshman QB never really received any playing time. It did not matter until Colt was injured in the National Championship game, not saying Texas would have won had G2 received more playing time during the regular season but it would not have hurt.

Oh yeah, I remember a lot of Bevo fans [deleted] after the title game about Mack keeping McCoy in blowouts to pad his stats for the Heisman instead of giving Gilbert snaps. In fact they still [deleted] about that to this day.
I think that JJ did that last year so he could give GG as many reps with the offense as possible because of the limited practice he got before the season started. With that being said, I hope the backups get some good reps during (hopefully) many of our blowouts this falllwjr wrote:I do not understand why JJ will not give the back up QB playing time when a game is won and out of hand.
pony147, that is not a bad point I still think you give the back up some playing time in case G2 goes down.Pony147 wrote:I think that JJ did that last year so he could give GG as many reps with the offense as possible because of the limited practice he got before the season started.
