Brown isnt getting the job - so he needs to call a press conference and announce that he is withdrawing his name from consideration, and is going to be at SMU until we win a national championship. That will drive the NY'ers crazy - and also will seem completely insane to everyone but the guys we are recruiting right now for 2014.

Screamin' A. Smith is one of the most annoying people on TV, and one of the most annoying anywhere. He also is very tied in with the Nets' front office and has loads of contacts around the league. He did a piece on ESPN about how Larry Brown "will get a call" along with Phil Jackson and Brian Shaw. Says Jackson might not jump at the job right away, either because he doesn't want it or because he wants to wait and see what happens with the Lakers and Clippers first.

If Jackson goes elsewhere, I'll be a little nervous.

ESPN cites a source as reporting Jackson says he's not interested:

It's not SMU's style to call a press conference to announce "nothing to see here." They don't even hold pressers to announce that someone quit, transferred, got fired, etc. They announce when someone comes to SMU, so I'd be shocked if we hear anything at all about this.

One concern: whenever LB does leave (hopefully not for several years!), I worry about other schools coming in to cherry-pick the staff.

not worried about that at what they are being paid.
